  1. I'll give you one of those examples. Auburn vs Oregon BCS National Championship.
  2. It's sad to see how the media drubs up who the top candidates are...Rick Perry, a Texas cheer leader responsible for creating the debt which Texas is currently in, or the constantly flip flopping depending on who pays me more Mitt Romney. And why are they promoting these two? Because they "look" the part of President. Since when did the Presidential race turn into Miss America? Ron Paul is the most reasonable and steadfast in his views candidate out of all of them. And he would be the only one to beat Obama.
  3. Any team would lose if they played like we did against Iowa State in 2009. Ah, that game made me want to run an Abrams tank right into a house, I was so mad...
  4. Turner seems to me like he is going to be more dangerous in the slot than if he were in one of the outside positions. Forces the opposing D to maybe bring some safety help and if they do that, well, then you have Enunwa and Bell who can both make some great plays. I think our WR corps this year has the potential to be extremely dangerous for opposing teams Ds. And if that is the case, then our running game is going to benefit extremely well. This season has potential, but it'll all start up front. If Taylor has time to throw, then we could see a nice beat down of Washington. If he doesn't, this game is going to turn out a lot closer than Vegas has predicted it.
  5. We could lose even if we don't turn the ball over. I don't think you can effectively predict a season based on what was seen in the first two games. And you especially can't make a realistic prediction based on comparisons between two teams who have played entirely different opponents. Sure, we're (and by we're I mean Taylor because I think he's the only one who has fumbled the ball) having some problems holding on to the football. But consider this as a sign of progress: 2010 through Western Kentucky and Idaho (two teams I will argue who combine to be the same as UTC and Fresno): Western Kentucky: 2 Fumbles Lost Idaho: 3 Fumbles Lost and 1 Interception Total: 5 Fumbles Lost and 1 Interception So far this year through UTC and Fresno State: UT-Chattanooga: 2 Fumbles Lost Fresno State: 2 Interceptions So we've turned the ball over less this year through two games than we have through two games last year. The problem could actually be with forcing the other team to turn the ball over.
  6. Glad to see Kenny getting the start. Hopefully our WR corps look like this: Bell and Enunwa on the outsides with Turner and sometimes Reed in the slot (I think a lot of teams will underestimate the slot)
  7. Again, I thought it was plenty loud in the south when the game was close...and especially when Abdullah and Martinez broke their runs for TDs...and when it was 4th and 2 for Fresno early on in the game.
  8. I'm thinking this is the week we see the offense go full throttle. And I think that starts with the O Line blocking much better than they have the first 2 games. We run with Burkhead and we run right through the tackles. Burkhead is the games' leading rusher. Followed by Polk and in a close 3rd Martinez...who will pass for more yards than Price.
  9. I seriously hope they give Boise a run, if not beat Boise just so we can stop hearing about how great a team Boise State is. When you have months to prepare for one team and nobody else, you're going to be at an advantage. Period.
  10. It would be discrimination not to if he was fully qualified for the position. It would only be discrimination if they didn't give him a chance to interview for the job.
  11. Who knows...it was supposed to rain for the UTC game as well and the worst it did was spit. I'm not too worried
  12. I thought the atmosphere was rowdy for that game...i dunno where you were.
  13. The winless Fresno State is an invalid argument considering they actually played an opponent in the first week of the season in their house and to whom they played close. I would like to bet that if Fresno stepped into Washington, they would end up on the winning side.
  14. Hank Williams da best

    1. Foppa

      Foppa

      Hank Gathers was better.

      There is truth in this

  15. Yeah you guys got out scored by a WAC team in the 4th quarter...I think even lowly Nebraska managed to outscore their respective WAC team.
  16. I'd rather try punching a brick wall a couple of times, and if it doesn't work bring out a bulldozer and plow it over (Beck) rather than continuously trying to punch the wall in hopes that it will break and then be totally shocked as to why it didn't (Watson)
  17. So much of this season is still up in the air, I find it hard to believe people are willing to jump off the edge after just 2 games. This game against Washington will prove how ready we are for the Wisconsin game. If we suck there, I'm going to be concerned. But I have the feeling Nebraska is going to come out firing on all cylinders and just dominate UDub
  18. There was no doubt that there was a lot of holding not called by the WAC crew. Seemed like they were more intent on watching if Nebraska was going to do anything rather than watching what Fresno State was doing. There's a reason why when they ran the ball up the middle our DLine was ineffective
  19. Was Billy C here the last 2 years? We were down at half to Mizzou in 09 & ISU last year. Both wins. I get it though; Watson would have been here the last two years so that is an automatic loss. My fault for assuming you were talking about Non Conference games since that is what this game was. I won’t let my assumptions get in the way again. I think what bshirt was trying to say was that Nebraska made adjustments from first half to second half in a close game. We didn't continuously pound our head against the wall expecting things to change and that benefitted greatly. In 09 Mizzou, I think we did a great job changing the game plan but against Iowa State last year, we really just got lucky, and didn't do anything to change our offense and make the defense adjust to it.
  20. I'm glad that we found a way to win, and if you want some honest positive and negative reactions to what went on against Fresno State, check out my post in What Did We Learn-Fresno State edition.
  21. We can all have our opinions...some of us more critical than others, doesn't mean any one of us is less a fan than the others. It's just a differing of opinions. I still think we reach the 10 win mark with the potential to get 11 or go undefeated...but that's my opinion. You're more than welcome to disagree with me and everyone else, but don't attack other people on the board for voicing their opinions.
