  1. I'm just going to throw this out: A big LOL at having LSU #1. The "Hat" barely won a lot of games last year, and I don't think he'll be as lucky without Peterson in his secondary. I like the Oklahoma pick at number one though, if they don't have any injuries, they'll be a team to reckon with for sure.
  2. Eric Hagg Round 5 DeJon Gomes Pick 185 Minnesota 8 Pick 143
  3. Whoever gets Lawrence Phillips is getting a steal lol
  4. One of the better paper ideas i've ever heard of.
  5. Well, we'll find out tonight won't we. The first round is tonight right?
  6. Also, Pryor's TV and his high school jersey were things not given to him by the University or the NCAA.
  7. The NCAA is notorious for slow balling issues like this. The only action I forsee is if Ohio State fires Tressel, but even that won't save him. It's a mess for tOSU, but I don't think anything will get done before the end of the upcoming season.
  8. Noise? Really? That noise factor really helped all the home teams against Nebraska last season. In fact, as i recall, the only advantage home teams had against Nebraska last season was "Watson" and "big 12 referees". You also got to remember where they played those games. @ Kansas State (W) (cap. 50,000 attend. 30-40k) @ Iowa State (W) (cap. 55k attend. 35-45k) and @ Texas A&M (L) (cap. 83k attend. 80k-90k) Wisconsin's Camp Randall capacity 80k (and you can bet 79k of those seats will be filled)
  9. It won't be outside the realm of possibility for them to lose to Miami, Colorado, and Michigan State. I see Colorado being a win, but I fully expect them to lose to Miami and Sparty. Same here. Don't forget, the NCAA is not done with Tressel. In fact, they haven't done anything yet. There's also a report that Tressel contacted members of the FBI after the memorabilia incident... and still didn't tell the school. I think the NCAA isn't going to go much further than where they already are with The Vest. They haven't punished (severely) a major program's coach since SMU. Linky McLinkerson Some of these are for basketball violations but, with hardly any of these school on the list, if the NCAA punished them, should be where they are now. Ohio State will be the same. (View the table at the bottom of the page)
  10. Feel free to disagree, but yes, that's my opinion.I think wisconsin is a joke. Trying to stop the blitzkrieg with the polish cavalry. I think they will be exposed horribly, and lose by 3 or 4 touchdowns, and probably not score....say 24 - 0 Huskers, or thereabouts. Wisconsin has to beat you in one particular way, which matches up really poorly with Nebraska's team D and other team strengths this year.PSU is late in the season, away game, probably the toughest away environment being furthest from Lincoln and a really huge stadium, lots of pride and tradition. PSU also has a lock on the top talent in their home state year in and year out. I believe the PSU away game will regularly be the toughest game for Nebrasaka, at least until michigan gets on their feet. How about 17-16 PSU?OSU does have the talent to match up with Nebraska, but not enough to overcome the "1st game back" issues for pryor and etc., plus its in Lincoln. Say, 23-10 Huskers.Nebraska wins the division and vs. wisconsin or PSU for the inaugural B1G title. Rematches are tough. Pick 'em. Wisconsin has lost a lot of talent, but with their coaching staff and the game being at Camp Randall, it will still be a tough game for Nebraska. That stadium can get downright loud. I've been saying that Penn State will be on the rise on other message boards and on ESPN, I really think this team is under the radar. They'll get a chance to prove themselves when they play Alabama this year.
  11. It won't be outside the realm of possibility for them to lose to Miami, Colorado, and Michigan State. I see Colorado being a win, but I fully expect them to lose to Miami and Sparty. No, it really wouldn't. Miami is probably the most talented team they'll face in that first 5 game stretch and I think they'll be able to handle them. Even if it's a close win (24-21), it's a win nonetheless.
  12. But who knows? Auburn certainly isn't going to repeat their last year's performance. They've been to LSU-Florida in the recent past and were @ Wisconsin for the Ohio State-Wisky game last year.
  13. The injury to Fisher was probably what made him more ineffective. Injuries have a way of doing that. That being said, I see Fisher having a pretty good year. Hopefully I'm not wrong on this belief.
  14. Thankfully. I'm pretty sure this is going to be a night game. Let's just hope we don't fall on our face and Bo doesn't go all crazy again.
  15. I'm not saying Ohio State will be our toughest matchup. I am, however, saying that Ohio State would disappoint if they lose 2 out of their first 5 games. I don't think they'll lose one at all, because the talent on the teams they face will also be significantly lower as well. Our toughest games will be on the road at Penn State and Wisconsin. My feelings on the Ohio State game is that it will be the most anticipated game (if both teams remain undefeated or one's 4-1 and the other 5-0) It has all the ingredients for a College Gameday game and CGD needs to make a trip back to Lincoln and trust me, if they do, it certainly won't be for teh Iowa or Michigan State or Northwestern games.
  16. Exactly, I was fortunate enough, by some miraculous unclogging of the purchasing system to get tickets on my one-day only chance to get them. For the UT game I was there at 9:30am (with huskeraddict and a couple of friends), waited in line for hours. I think they opened the gates at 12ish where everyone ran and stood in a massive blob for another 45min or so. Obviously a lot of excitement and anticipation in that blob and I think we were even lucky enough to be put on the ESPN. Great atmosphere. Then the gates to the stadium opened and all hell broke loose. My shoelaces came untied and repeatedly stepped on, but lucky for me there were so many people around me that I didn't fall. And while we're running/pushing/being pushed our way up the ramp, I look over to see people filing into the East section in a nice, neat, calm, walk. Anyways, ended up about 70th row...not bad, not really that great, but what can you expect? And if College Gameday is going to be in Lincoln for the Ohio State matchup (which given the current situation is about an 85% certainty) you can expect people to be @ College Gameday hours before it goes on air and then from CGD they'll go right into the line. It's one hell of an anticipated game. I'm looking forward to it, though. And yeah, I wish they would change the student seating, but I can understand their reasoning behind why they don't. However, students are the ones who make the atmosphere lively, not some blue hairs sitting down watching the game like its on TV.
  17. This game could be one of the most anticipated games for the entire college football season next year. tOSU should not lose more than 1, if any, games before their matchup with Nebraska. Nebraska should not lose more than 1, if any, games before their matchup with tOSU. tOSU's schedule up to Nebraska: vs. Akron (W) vs. Toledo (W) @ Miami (W) vs. Colorado (W) vs. Michigan State (W): Should be 5-0. Rank: #3-10 Nebraska's schedule up to Ohio State: vs Chattanooga (W) vs Fresno State (W) vs Washington (W) @ Wyoming (W) @ Wisconsin (W/L): Should be 5-0 or 4-1. Ranked #5-15. The vest and company will be on their first game back at, of all places Nebraska, who will be playing their first B1G home game. Other notable games on 10/08: Red River Shootout (Texas vs Oklahoma), Virginia Tech vs. Miami, Auburn @ Arkansas, Florida @ LSU. You got to be thinking GameDay wants to make a trip back to Lincoln, they've been to all these places before. HOW MANY MORE DAYS TIL FOOTBALL SEASON STARTS?!?
  18. The QB as well as any player should be protected from head injuries. Of course, if the QB or any other player puts their head down first before taking the hit, then it shouldn't be a penalty as the DB/LB was going to hit their chest, but because of the QB lowering their head, they hit their head. Hardly the defenders fault if you ask me. The unsportsmanlike penalty is just complete garbage. Basically this is what it says, "Hey players, don't play with any emotion, in an emotion filled game."
  19. This was their big idea, eh? A lot of work to be done if this thing is going to have any moderate success. Personally being a student there next fall (transferring), all I want to do is be loud for four quarters and support the team. Hopefully this turns out to be something a little more than what was stated. I'm sure they will think of something creative and simple. As this is a work in progress, at its very beginnings, I'm sure something will come up.
  20. I don't think something good or creative will come out of this, but I've been wrong before. We're called the greatest fans in football. Why? Because we sit down and stay quiet for the opponent, haha. I'm tired of this. You're going to a football game to be LOUD. If you're going to a college football game in an 80,000+ capacity stadium, not to mention it's Memorial Stadium and Husker Football (the biggest sport in Nebraska) and you want to be quiet, you're doing something wrong.
  21. And most of the time you don't even get a good seat, just a seat, haha. But for me, mid afternoon or night games are the best.
  22. Apparently they'll be announcing whatever it is they're about on Friday. Stay tuned. Whatever it is, I'm thinking it's going to be a positive thing for GameDays
