  1. Nothing that we don't already suspect, just more rumors and will be made true the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, I hope.
  2. Even though it won't possibly happen, if UNO's coach is hired at UNL, I will sell my season tickets that have been in the family 40+ years, all my husker stuff and my house. I HATE that guy and I really don't have a good reason, just rubs me the wrong way.
  3. Football 101 was not Callahan's idea. George Darlington used to teach it. I don't know if all the money collected went to charity when George was teaching it or not. I do like the fun run, keep that.
  4. If Matt Parault told me the sky was blue, I wouldn't believe, the jackass. Him and Travis Justice make a great pair. One for the left ass cheek, the other for the right ass cheek. Can you tell I don't like these guys, or am I being too subtle?
  5. Before something will change, this program has to hit rock bottom. If Cosgrove, Callahan, someone isn't fired before the end of the season, imagine this: it's Saturday November 10, 2007. Nebraska, having lost it's last 5 conference games, gets ready to take the field for its last home game of the season in front of 85,000 fans, 30,000+ in K-State purple.
  6. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if the score in the 3rd quarter was something like 31-10, but I'll be damned if I know who will be winning!!! That's how messed up this game is.
  7. CoachKevin, this post isn't necessarily directed to you, but HC Callahan can't anything right in the eyes of Husker fans. Some fans are screaming at the tops of our lungs to play the young guys. We've seen the same old stuff from the upperclassmen (IE Green, Rudd and McKeon) so get them out. And when HC Callahan suggests playing some younger guys, he gets lambasted for that too. Hey fans, lay off a bit. give the guy a break.
  8. You are correct, BC is the head coach, Cos is still the DC. The same guys who put in the game plan against Okie State and Mizzou are prepping the team for A&M. Firing Stevie Boy is a step in the right direction, but it doesn't make a damn bit of difference what happens on Saturday.
  9. Who is Bill Carlin? I saw a sign when ESPN Gameday was in town that Chuck McGinnis is better than Pete Carrol, lets get him.
  10. Sorry, but this isn't the bottom. Wait until the day after Thanksgiving and we are still looking for our 5th win.
  11. Coach Callahan has stressed this week that basically today's game with Okie State is a MUST win game. Don't be surprised if he calls alot of gadget plays, a whole lot more than last year's Colorado game. He tried the pass back to Ganz against Iowa State, so he's done it once already in 2007, so be prepared.
  12. Please tell me how I can get the part of my life back that I wasted reading this dribble. Honestly, one of the stupidest f*king things I have read on the internet.
  13. Most of the booing I heard during the Ball State game was coming from the student section. I will grant you that it was coming from all over the stadium, but it was loudest from the eastern part of south stadium. Now, I hope and pray it doesn't happen, but if Okie State comes out and scores the first two times they touch the ball, people in Hastings will be able to hear the boos coming from Memorial Stadium. It's a simple fact, most of Husker Nation is pissed off and that may be the only way they can do to voice their frustration to the coaches, players and administration.
  14. Do yourself a favor and find the article that was in the Omaha World Herald earlier this week. As a matter of fact, I'll post it my self http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_page=1200...;u_sid=10153182 McCarney brings passion to the game and that seems to be lacking on this team.
  15. Every other thread on this board, every Husker blog and every other Husker website, all I see is the name Bo Pelini. Sorry fans, that ship has sailed. We could offer him Saban type money and he still won't come back to Nebraska. It ain't happening folks. Put yourself in his shoes. You work for a company and get passed over for a promotion and you get pissed and leave for another job. A couple years later, your old company comes back and tries to hire you again, for that same job you weren't good enough for a couple of years before. First thing you do is laugh right in their face and that's exactly what Bo would do. But the offer to Bo ain't coming. HE AIN"T COMING BACK. GET OVER IT. MOVE ON. NOTHING TO SEE HERE. ALL IS WELL. now, go get Dan McCarney as our new DC starting after South Florida's bowl game.
  16. I'm with you, the blinders come off now. I had a feeling that Saturdays game would turn out the way it did, but I was hoping it wouldn't. Now its time to starting thinking with the brain, not the heart. I love this team, just now how they play the game.
  17. My question is why get him HUGE? I'd rather have this kid go from 235 to maybe 250 at the most. Get back to our smaller, quicker DE who can speed rush and run down RB's. I really don't care for defensive tackles playing defensive end position. Ask Barry Turner if he's more productive pushing 275 pounds or back when he was lighter. BTW I'm very pleased about Riley committing to Nebraska. I think the potential is there for this kid to be great.
  18. I was backing Coz also, but no more. He doesn't have 11 guys playing hard every play. I think these 5 guys give all out effort every play are Octavian, Suh, Potter, Grixby and Dillard (when he's in there). The rest are just going through the motions. I just don't think the kids believe in Coz's schemes anymore. This read and react crap is killing us. Let the players play, defense should be fun, it doesn't look like they are having any fun out there at all. I also think that Callahan is losing faith in the defense. Many times I noticed Callahan shaking his head as Coz's defense was just getting run over. Callahan knows that Coz isn't getting it done and hopefully will show Coz the door after the season. Bill Busch might be our best recruiter, but I don't think that guy can coach his way out of a wet paper bag. How many times were our safeties out of position, taking bad angles and just not doing their job. We can only hope
  19. Let's get this topic back on track. Get real, Mike Stoops and Brent Vennables are not going to come to Nebraska. What about former ISU head coach Dan McCarney? He's not a bad recruiter, knows what it takes to win in the Big 12 and I think he'd enjoy kicking Iowa State every year?
  20. Hey, California Husker, did you actually watch the game? Coz did adjust at halftime. In the second half, each time WF ran that WR reverse, we had guys in position to make the play for little or no gain, the players just didn't make the play. That's all you can ask of a coach. Bo Rudd didn't play well at all and on the TD, Brian Wilson took a terrible angle at the ball carrier. Other than the drive leading off the second half, WF did very little offensively, my hat goes off to the defense.
  21. I think I am going to stop reading the Husker boards on the day after the game. Last week, we could have taken on Peyton Manning and Indianapolis Colts, now this week, Michigan would kick our behinds. RELAX people, don't throw the coaches or players under the bus, we won the game, remember? Could have we played better, sure, but I'll take an win next week vs USC when we play "poorly", as will most of you.
  22. If the DN doesn't print your copy, simply turn your backs to the camera when Herby speaks.
  23. Even if TJ SLIMERS has the best day of his life, there is no way on God's green earth that he will admit any of it in his column. He'll find something stereotypically bad and exploit it. SLIMERS already has enough ammo in the fact that over 1,000 people invited him to visit them. This guy is not a "big city" boy, he grew up in the Midwest and went to college in Illinios. If you ask me, the guys 15 minutes of fame in Nebraska was up about a half hour ago.
