  1. The problem is that we are starting/playing way too many players that either aren't ready or just don't have the talent to be playing at this level. Aside from Josh Mitchell we are playing the same guys as last year. This was suppose to be our deepest group defensively. Virtually everyone out there has at least 1 year of D1 experience.
  2. Yep. Use the sideline as an extra defender. Play more press coverage to throw off timing routes and eliminate the 3 step drop quick throws to a spot. Have 1 safety in the box and one high to help the CB out. As mentioned earlier, no team will run 4 vertical routes. I just hope wa start seeing something in the way of help for the CB's. You're describing cover 3 or cover 1 robber defense. The Quarters everyone loves to hate is cover 4. Like others alluded to, i don't know how likely Banker is philosophically to change his base D at this point. I have a feeling more aggressive corner play will help a lot. I think they're scared of getting burnt deep and that's resulting in the cushion. Pressing at the line would help a lot too. Hopefully, they get more comfortable and start playing less loose. This is where the scheme becomes confusing. We give a huge cushion to prevent big plays but consistently get beat not only deep but on short slant and out patterns that turn into 20+ yard gains. Would it really hurt that much to press the receivers at the line?
  3. All good questions. My wife and i recently bough a German Shepherd as well. He is now a 10 month old 100 lb bohemoth. Training them early is very important. In regards to the biting a stern "no" or yelp worked for us as well. Puppys use their mouths for everything (ours still does some) it's something they will grow out of. Ours wasnt crated for long because we had the same problem as you. I've heard of putting something in their that smells like you (a shirt, shoes, shorts) something you wouldn't mind getting chewed on. I've also hear of people covering the crate with a blanket at night so it's completely dark and also makes the dog feel more relaxed/safe. Give the puppy lots of excersise so its tired at night. If you wear them out, they will sleep better. I try to take ours on 3 walks/day and also play fetch in the yard. Discipline is tricky. We have never used a timeout corner for a dog. A stern "no" worked pretty good for us. Teaching them commands like sit, lay down, and stay are always useful when a dog is misbehaving too. Always socialize your dog as well. Let him play with other dogs and see other people (strangers) daily. GSD's can become aggresive. Ours began to act out on us at roughly around 5 months old, barking and growling at people, especially kids. So we set up play dates with a friend who owns a dog and also with a couple down the block who have some younger kids he can run around with. This is still something we are working on. Exercise often and teach him commands. They are smart dogs and will catch on.
  4. Something I could see Kenny tattooing on his back...Then bitching about his bills
  5. Bo's players echo the insanity that is this entire coaching staff. The fans have been pitted against the football team since late 2010 early 2011...A sh#t product on the field is acceptable, but how dare us fans call out this overpaid staff when nothing has changed or is going to change with Bo in charge. What has been instilled in these players is the cowards way out..Time to blow this coaching staff up and start fresh.
  6. 1. Kiffen - Lane or Monte? 2. Frost - Nebraska ties, first time head coach?...what could go wrong? 3. The Hamburglar - D-Coordinator, excellent at takeaways 4. Kim Kardashian's bum - O-line coach, aint no one getting in the way of that bootay 5. Obama - Bring in all the "Talented" players
  7. I dont think hes trying to knock him for writing the letter, but instead where he is sending it. Am I correct Huskerscott? Hell I dont know..Send it to the AD..Chancellor..and Board to make it easy on yourself.
  8. Agreed..Ameer has done more with absolute sh#t for an offensive line than anyone has in the nation..the fact that he made it 9 games into the season without an injury in amazing.
  9. You wasted 40 minutes on something that won't even make it to Eichorst desk.I feel sorry for you. If it gets sent enough times, it will make it to his desk..Thats the point of this thread..Multiple people need to share the same viewpoints that are discussed in the letter..So your channeling your "hope and dreams" on a wanting a new coach in a form letter you want everybody to mail in??? Not only are you showing a lack of competence in our coach, but also our AD, Chanceller, Board of Regents and so on. The only thing this will accomplish is showing how much of a lunatics our fans are. This is Husker nation..what else can we be "lunatics" about. The coach is pretty incompetent..Im not sure you can argue that. Where is he calling out the AD, chancellor, and board of regents in the letter?

  11. Just like last year and the Bo tirade that made news! Like the year before and the last Wisky beating! Texas A&M/Martinez fiasco! I'm getting used to the terrible pub. Hell I'm ready to embrace it. That seems to be a part of our identity. It's one of the parts we can depend on each season. gotta stay #relevant
  12. I agree with all of the above. My contention is that people say that one can't rely overwhelmingly on the run to win after I saw what Wisconsin did to us and what Florida did to Georgia....and what a dozen different Husker teams did to half a hundred other teams. Exactly. The game of football hasn't changed. The Huskers have. And for the worse...... Misdirection, sweeps, screens..for gods sake a 2 back set...blah blah blah it's all been said...the incompetence of this staff..both defense and offense is elementary..confusing...laughable...mind dumbing...and one big cluster f#*k.
  13. A screen..It requires zero blocking at the line of scrimmage..problems may occur when they reach the linebackers and secondary
  14. I propose benching tim beck for the 3rd quarter and let random huskerboard members call plays...you never know. Nonsense...we would never lose
  15. This offense clearly does not work for a QB like T.A. What are some 2nd half adjustments huskerboarders?
  16. Screens? Misdirection? They are bringing 8-9 guys every play. What in the Tim Beck is going on?
  17. Agreed. Multiplicity from formations, but not in plays. TO ran a few (limited) plays incredibly well, almost to perfection from multiple formations and motions. Sadly, year 3 with beck and I (IMO him) still have no idea what we want to be. We are multiple in that we make multiple mistakes with too many plays in the book. We have the QB's to run a similar offense...Not quite as athletic as Auburns but still effective. I sure hope our offensive staff has been watching the Auburn film. Abdullah would thrive in a similar system if he stays conditioned and healthy...Much like Auburns does.
  18. Hes figured out how to maintain ball control and a physical offense, yet use a hurry up offense when needed....The broadcsters said Auburn uses 3 plays 80% of the time...absolutely amazing. Malzahn's offense is the modern day version of the Mid 90's Nebraska offense.
  19. What about the Sayles kid. Sounds like we will miss on Kondolo, Willis, and Clark. With a class this big, it might be worth giving a scholly to someone you know will work their butt off for some playing time
  20. Slow sports night. C'mon its opening night for the NHL. Isn't/wasn't everyone in front of a game and their laptop? NH what??
  21. Could you imagine if this guy actually won the heisman. His whole candidacy was based on an off the field sob story that never was. My only fear is this will get pushed under the rug, a lot like the Newton situation, with no consequences. For now, I will sit back and enjoy What consequences could there be? By any account ND had no idea what was going on. And I don't think any laws were broken, just people's trust. The only real consequence that will come from it is a nasty slide in draft stock for Te'o Not necessarily legal consequences. But taking serious heat from the media sources who fed fire to his story (I'm looking at you ESPN). Theres also rumors floating around about how a charity was started for Teo's "girlfriend". Not sure if this was before or after her "death". Where did all the money go for these charities? Again, just speculating, but aren't we all.

  23. Seems kind of ironic doesn't it?? Sounds a bit like our season. Seriously Musberger, put and asterick next to our '97 championship?? At least they finished undeafeted. Lets start putting astericks next to oversigned teams and recruiting violations that are pushed under the table
  24. I have never seen a freshman QB make a game look so easy. Makes the right read virtually every time, limits turnovers, and is decievingly fast/shifty. I will enjoy watching him pick apart all the vaunted SEC defenses over the next 2 years
