  1. They will be, how do you say.... feeling the strain.
  2. See the first line in my post. They are the numbers we have. So we can b!^@h and whine about numbers we don't like, or use the data available to make smart decisions. If the numbers aren't supporting your argument, they must be inaccurate. It is exhausting.
  3. Man, how far we've come as a society. If the news/data support your opinion, great. If the news/data doesn't support your opinion, we must be being lied to. https://twitter.com/scottgottliebmd/media?lang=en should be a mandatory follow on Twitter, I read everything he puts out daily and you should too. Unbiased numbers and medical opinion on what is happening. He was interviewed yesterday and said to expect a continued decline in June and then watch numbers fall off a cliff in July/August. He does expect, like everyone else, spikes in the fall. But if no one is getting sick in August... I don't see how you don't start the season.
  4. People know they played college football in 1918, right? During the peak of a pandemic much worse than this? I didn't take the time to read 23 pages of nonsense to check if we'd talked about it (hey, can we get 50-post pages again?) Reduced capacity. Fans wore masks. Nothing formal, but fans just "spread out" more in the stands. Cool picture from a Georgia Tech game in this article. https://www.startribune.com/lessons-from-18-old-pandemic-is-a-murky-guide-for-sports/570651632/ We are playing football this fall.
  5. Am I wrong saying Cerni is the only one on that list on scholarship? Compete, winner takes all, others can be backup or transfer to a school that is a better fit. Good for the team.
  6. But I thought he wanted championship atmosphere, good for him.
  7. "So people have to understand that it is not my Nebraska. It is not the same day... At the end of the day, you can see they are not winning. They're not going to bowl games & they have to say to themselves, Do I want to go down there? If they have that opportunity, do I want to go down there and be a part of that? I think one of the things he wanted to do was go to a place he felt like where things were rolling pretty good, and if he can enhance that, that's the quickest way to get to the championship atmosphere." LMAO. He's not lying, so I can't knock him there, but I'll jump off the top of Oldfather Hall before Iowa embodies "championship atmosphere" more than Nebraska. We'll be back. I'm a fan, so I'd like to see fun poked at Clester for dumb comments like that. I wonder how Iowa's bowl game banners are doing these days.
  8. Twitter (and other people who take Twitter as fact?) is so stupid. It is a known gig in recruiting for fans from other teams to make burners to make fans of rival teams look crazy/mean. No one knows if @Bloody1130 isn't just an Iowa fan lol. That said, I will not have a single problem with fans saying whatever they want to to Clester Johnson if we beat Iowa this year. LEAVE THE KID ALONE. But I hope his dad just gets roasted if we win this year.
  9. In b4 "West coast OL/DL are soft anyways, we want Midwest beef-eating road graders!" (some truth to it, but hey)
  10. I think it's just to show Haarberg he isn't a fall back. I'd prefer Haarberg over Leonard.
  11. Le'Veon Bell is a RB who almost walks out of his stance at RB and seems to do just fine waiting for holes. Would take Ervin
  12. Assuming there is a season this year.... it will be interesting to see how John Bivens does in summer workouts and eventually fall camp. You'd think a good showing would leave the staff feeling comfortable taking 1 RB instead of 2 this class.
  13. Where are you seeing that? He's not on the roster online.
  14. Hope Vedral wins the MAC with our ol' buddy Frank Solich.
  15. Mav, not sure why you're not getting more love in this "run the damn ball" Huskerboard world here. Biggest critique of everyone else is weak OLs (IMO). We've seen what Iowa and Wisconsin OLs can do for mediocre QBs/RBs lololol.
  16. And many, many, many guys who get drafted don't have success either. Just the name of the game, the best players stay on the field.
  17. You're seeming to say 3 coaches teaching 3 different schemes in 4 years is good for a player trying to figure things out. That's not the ideal situation.
  18. Just got drafted, FWIW. Man, we had a terrible string of WR recruiting lol.
  19. By guys you mean CBS Sports? It wasn't just homers on the board... dude had a terrible pro day and combine.
  20. And no, if you look 5 posts up, you can see there are still 3 other B1G teams, much less FBS, with players who haven't had a player drafted this year. Chilllllllll
  21. With the DT taken from Texas Tech, both Darrion Daniels and Carlos Davis move into the top 5 DTs available. Darrion commited to Frost. Davis brothers were Bo recruits, weren't they? Edit: Yes, the Davis brothers were committed for 9 months before Riley got here. lololol thanks Mike
  22. Teddy Prochazka is the best in the state, IMO, and is much more important for us as we rebuild the line. I think most would agree.
  23. We've missed on literally no one else... and this one isn't even over yet. Or are you still on the "Keagan Johnson isn't coming here" train? Teddy is coming here. AJ Rollins will play TE here. We will offer Haarberg before the year is over, and he'll play here. Betts last year. He was the better WR between him and Watts. No one really else in 2020 I would have wanted. In the 2019 class... #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #7 now play for this staff. Why are you so salty? (Heinrich, Hickman, Snodgrass, Nelson, Piper, Nouili). This staff has no problem locking up the most highly rated kids within a stones throw of Lincoln.
