  1. I agree that it's not all Lee's fault. So the whole offense pretty much sucks. That is on Riley and his assistants.
  2. Tanner may have "looked better" but his numbers were terrible. 50% passing, 1 pick 6, only 1 TD.
  3. Fine, maybe I am putting too much blame on Diaco's D. He didn't get any help from the offense in the 2nd half. But wow, the D couldn't make a stop when it needed it to.
  4. Nebraska isn't a good team, and we aren't getting better under Riley.
  5. So Bounds and Green mentioned having the teams "compete" when they fired Eichorst. Well, the 2nd half tonight was the epitome of not competing. The offense sucked. The defense sucked. The whole team sucked.
  6. I am with you on the Williamses. Those guys don't seem to be very good in-game coaches.
  7. After NU tied the game at 17 on the pick 6, Diaco's D allowed Wisconsin to have back to back drives of 93 and 80 yards. 18 of the 20 plays were on the ground. That's not good.
  8. Was it a good pass? No. It was thrown too hard and behind him. The ball should have been thrown in front of Ozigbo so he can catch it in stride.
  9. That wasn't a fluky interception. It was a terrible pass. It was thrown too hard and behind Oz. If Armstrong had thrown that, he would have been crucified.
  10. The whole defensive performance that night was huge. Teach and I were there, after spending all day at the bars and tailgating with a big group. It was a freaking blast. The game was amazing. The whole crowd just willed the D to play lights out that night.
  11. I think that Frost would probably try to go with a power spread offense, which he currently runs at Central Florida. I think he would be smart enough to adapt/tweak the offense to the roster and the competition that NU would face, so that means he could use more heavy sets for use in conference play.
  12. I am not against firing Riley, but I don't see the positives of keeping him around in an administrative position.
  13. Looking at pure run-pass ratio's is a flawed way to look at how much a team passes. Frost's teams were probably behind on the scoreboard more than NU last year, and that is going to cause them to pass more, in attempt to score quickly and come back from a deficit. Also, we all know that Riley went very run-heavy with Armstrong at QB, in order to limit mistakes in the passing game. In 2015 and this year, we saw Riley's teams have many games where they attempted 35-40+ passes in a game.
  14. I understand that Riley is a nice guy and is a good representation of the University, but why do people keep wanting him to stick around NU if he's fired from the head coaching job? Consider the situations. 1. Riley is an Oregon native, and has been at Nebraska for 3 years. If he's fired, he will most likely want to go back to Oregon to spend his golden years. He has kept his home in Corevallis and will want to get back there ASAP. 2. If you are the new head coach, why would you want the former head coach to stick around and "offer advice"? That would be so awkward, and it wouldn't be fair to the new head coach. 3. It wouldn't be fair to the Riley either. It would be telling him "Yeah, we don't want you to run the entire football program, but we would like you to help out the new head coach, even though you probably don't think you should have been fired, and you felt like you needed more time to turn things around at NU."
  15. It looks like NU is down to Ozigbo and Bradley at RB today. I don't see those guys carrying the ball 30+ times between them. I'm afraid that this is going to lead to Langsdorf going the passing route, and we know how that has not been successful this year. I think this will lead to sack and interceptions, and NU won't be able to overcome those.
  16. Ohio State is more spread than they are Pro-Style and they won in 2014. Clemson runs a spread with dual option QB, and they won last year. It helps that both teams had NFL talent all over the rosters, but even Bama has gone to a mobile QB to go with a power running game.
  17. Agree with you on Frost, not sold on Diaco yet. His D will have a lot to show the next few weeks.
  18. If you watch Frost's offenses, it's a "power spread" so while he spreads the offense and defense out, it's definitely built on power. I am sure Frost is smart enough to be able to adapt his offense to the type of talent he would get at Nebraska and the opponents he would see in the Big Ten. If you remember, Osborne started running power run game out of spread formations near the end of his tenure at NU.
  19. Riley as an AD is a terrible idea. I don't care how nice he is, he has had to replace over half of his coaching staff since coming to NU. I don't have much faith in hiring coaches, and he would most likely hire a football coach that is similar to him, which I don't want. I want an AD who has been an AD before, and he/she can hire his/her own coach.
  20. John Fox never won a Super Bowl. He lost his two appearances (one with Panthers, one with Broncos). The Broncos Super Bowl winning team was coached by Gary Kubiak. I don't want an old, retread coach, especially one from the NFL.
  21. Does anyone remember when Comedy Central was first launched, it was called Ha!

That was just a random thought that popped in my head this afternoon.

I remember when MTV launched, I was in college at UNL. Ah the good old days when they actually played nothing but music videos.

I remeber when they still played mostly music videos.

I just learned that MTV still exists. I thought they folded years ago.

  22. Yep, Stoops was Co-DC at Kansas State, went to Florida for 3 years (starting in '96) and was hired by Oklahoma for the '99 season.
  23. Somewhat related, I will cook two hot dogs in the microwave, and throw them in a burrito tortilla with some cheese, and it's a hot dog burrito.
