  1. I don't disagree with you on predictability and poor line play of our offense. I think our RB's can be good, but to make comparisons to the best RB in the country is just silly.
  2. I'm sorry but we don't have any backs near the talent, size, and skill that Saquon Barkley. That's a laughable post.
  3. Rimington is probably going to take a big picture point of view on his review of the athletic department. Who cares if he won't have time get to know every single employee. Rimington has experience running a foundation with hundreds of millions of dollars. He's used to taking a big picture POV of running a large business. Those CEO types aren't going to want to meet every single person. He will be in his office or around the facilities a few hours a day, probably meet a former teammate or current coach for lunch, and then meet another teammate or booster for dinner. I wouldn't be surprised if he uses this time to try and get further donations to the Boomer Esiason Foundation. I think you are making his responsibilities out to be more than what they will actually be.
  4. Green and Bounds wanted to get a person outside the current athletic department to make observations and reports. A person currently inside the program isn't going to be likely to tell Green and Bounds all the crappy stuff that was going on.
  5. All the day to day administrative AD stuff that Eichorst might have done will be passed on to other people within the athletic department. Rimington will basically just be an ambassador to the athletic department for the coaches, players, and alumni/former players. Actually, the last group may be the most important people he will deal with, as he will need to be a calming influence on boosters and be able to meet and BS with former players. Other than that, he will probably walk around, observe things, and then report those observations to Green and Bounds.
  6. Diaco tried to create a fake rivalry with UCF when he was head coach at UConn. It was a colossal failure. UCF beat UConn last year, and left the trophy at UConn's stadium.
  7. Yeah, don't make Mav turn around this car!!!
  8. I agree with you. I think Gebbia is a gamer and has intangibles you can't teach or see on film.
  9. Honestly, other than Parrella, I don't think any of the assistants would want to stay. They are all tied to Riley, not NU. Bray has been a Riley guy forever, and he's been linked to higher jobs. The two Williamses are known as great recruiters, so they will have their picks of jobs, too.
  10. Yep, Lee loves going to Morgan, so he's going to look his direction first.
  11. I think Morgan is good at the deep ball because he should have the physicality to go up and get the deep ball in the air. I am with you on Lindsey though. He's pretty limited as it is, but he is the fastest WR. They should be able to send him on a fly route or double move once a quarter or half in hopes of hitting the deep ball.
  12. There is no deep threat, especially with Morgan dinged up. Also, I don't know if the o-line can protect enough for the deep ball.
  13. I'm with you. Let go of everyone if you need to. Although, Parella is probably tied to the school more than tied to Riley, so I think he should get a look to stay.
  14. I would assume the University will put him up in the Embassy Suites for the next 2 months. He can get breakfast every morning, walk to campus, and even enjoy a free cocktail during the evening happy hour.
  15. Sweet, I won the day yesterday!!!

@ColoradoHusk Unfortunately, as the site adds in rep from subsequent days, we can lose days we have already won. Looks like Mav overtook you and "won" that day now.

I just saw that I now didn't win the day.  Dangit!!!  Oh well, Mav is a good competitor to lose to.

  16. It would be one thing if Riley was bouncing around 8-4 or 9-3 every year, and his teams were about to make the leap into championship contention, but his teams are BAD!!!
  17. Sorry, Boyd, eventually Riley needs to be held accountable for the product on the field, especially if NU finishes with 2 terrible seasons in 3 years.
  18. I agree that there are definitely challenges to improving guys in college, especially given the limits that coaches can spend with players.
  19. Armstrong's passing yards per game increased under Langsdorf, mainly because he passed the ball more. His yards per completion and yards per attempt declined in 2015, and he threw 4 more interceptions. Taking all those factors into account, he was pretty much the same QB he was under Langsdorf that he was under Beck. I'm not trying to say that Beck or Langsdorf was better, I'm just saying that there wasn't significant improvement under Langsdorf, which many thought would happen, given the fact that Langsdorf would be TA's dedicated QB coach, and based on Langsdorf's resume.
  20. Only members of the coaching staff can recruit and visit players. Tom Osborne named himself interim head coach in 2007 so he could visit recruits until Pelini came aboard, as Bo was finishing his time at LSU.
  21. While TA through for more yards in 2015, he had a higher passer rating in 2014 (133.0 vs. 128.6) and ran for 305 more yards in 2014.
  22. That's awesome that Manning and Langsdorf had a great year together. Makes me wonder even more what's going on at NU. As a sidenote, Tom Coughlin sounded pretty pissed off that Langsdorf left after 1 year. I'm sure he was just being a bitter old man, because most football coaches are a nomadic people.
  23. I liked the part of when Dave was to meet with Green and Bounds. Dave was at their office about 15-30 minutes early, because that's what Nebraskans do, show up early for things. It made me smile because I always try to be early to appointments or meetings, and one of my biggest pet peeves is people who are late.
  24. Wow, BRB just took a few of my comments to the extreme. Good to see that I'm not the only one.
