  1. Where do you get this from? Wasnt really a possibility for bad losses when he was at Oregon St. And i wouldnt hold his first year at Nebraska against him just yet.He lost to FCS teams.Like i said, losing to fcs teams at Oregon St isnt much of an upset. Wow...okay.You know how hard it is to recruit to Kosovo, Oregon?!?!
  2. It's possible I'm thinking of the 1995 preseason, after the 1994 season. But don't tell anyone I said that because Landlord thinks I never admit I'm wrong. Thanks for admitting you are wrong, because that mean's I WAS RIGHT!!!! (and that's all that matters)
  3. Nebraska 34 Indiana 17 Rushing 250 Passing 225
  4. I agree that Indiana is getting propped up by it's win over a bad Michigan State team, and "keeping it close" against Ohio State. I see NU winning by at least 10 points.
  5. True. But she has gotten a little bit larger over the years. It's all about that bass!!! #notreble I like that song. It is a catchy tune.

  7. If POB were to transfer, we are in trouble depth wise. I feel you are very far off on this projection. POB committed to Nebraska knowing full and well that Terry Wilson was already commited in the same class.... Yeah POB committed to NU when Wilson was in the same class, but before the coaches went after Lee and fought hard for him to get an extra year of eligibility. I could be wrong, but it's just a hunch I have. Also I don't think this transfer would happen until after the 2017 season. POB wouldn't want to sit behind Lee again in 2018 and compete with Gebbia and a couple other QBs (including dual threat QBs) in 2019
  8. I think it's a very strong possibility that POB transfers. Lee is the front-runner to start in 2017, so unless Lee gets injured or is not very good, that's 2 more years of being a backup for POB. Most kids don't have that patience any more, especially at QB.
  9. With Brook and Tommy we basically had two starting quarterbacks on our roster. Brook was a good enough passer that the Bronco's were planning on drafting him in the 3rd round if he was still available. Tommy was pretty incredible but Brook was just as stellar.I remember that Brook was very good, I was at NU during those u at. But, he was a complete unknown before 1994. I don't know how people can say they are 100% confident in him when Frazier went down with blood clots in 1994. Stop having revisionist history on how people knew Brook was going to keep the NU train going that year, when he barely saw the field before 1994.
  10. He's gotta be the only non-running quarterback in history to have a 1,000 yard rushing season, right? Nope, he was a drop back, statue QB.
  11. Whoever was thinking that Berringer should be starting just because of the 2nd string QB is always better was freaking crazy. Frazier had just led NU to within 1 minute of the national championship, and had 2 career losses in a 1 1/2 years of starting. Whoever thought he shouldn't have come back and been the starter in 1994 is delusional. There was no reason to have given that a reasonable thought. Hiindset is 20/20 for a reason. I'm not saying Berringer should have started in 1994. I am just saying I remember quite a few folks not being that high on Tommie going in to 1994 season. It was same logic that said Tommie should not have replaced Grant 1992. It's not rational at the time, it was emotional... Seriously, Husker fans being delusional, color me shocked... The reason I am acting so shocked and surprised that there was even talk by delusional fans is that I don't remember ever hearing that type of talk from my friends, family, and fellow students. We were 100% in on Frazier, and I don't remember anybody who wasn't. Again, this is before Frazier got hurt and Berringer played well in his absence in 1994.
  12. I also never figured out why NU has the home sideline on the east side, as that puts the team in the sun during day games. Get in that shade!!!
  13. I cannot for the life of me fathom why he gets so little credit. Gdowski is on people's lists but Martinez is low on people's lists because he got injured his freshman season. How does that make sense? The Wisconsin and UCLA runs and probably many others I'm forgetting happened after he was injured. You make a good point. I discounted him because of his injuries. When he was healthy, TM was a freak. I swear he was running a sub 4.0 forty. Often when heading into the endzone he was slowing down or loafing. I still say he wins two or three Heismans if he stays healthy. Martinez was the fastest straight-ahead runner at QB that Nebraska has ever had. He had decent ball skills at running the zone read, but man, he was so freaking fast and was so fun to watch for a good amount of time at NU.

  15. Yes, there was a legitimate QB competition in 1995, but before 1994 and Frazier's blood clot issue, the job was all Frazier's.
  16. I know I am thread-jacking, but these were Berringer's stats BEFORE 1994. He had only played in 1993, appearing in 10 games as Frazier's backup. Passing 17-27 (63%) for 222 yards, 2 TD's and 1 INT Rushing 10 carries for 15 yards, 2 TD's How is a guy who barely saw the field in 1993 was going to be considered a potential starter in place of the starting QB for 1 1/2 years, Big 8 Freshman of the Year in 1992, 2nd Team All-Big 8 QB in 1993, and Orange Bowl MVP in 1994 (after 1993 season). I think you guys are doing the mis-remembering.
  17. This is how I recall the situation in 1994 as well... Are you sure you guys aren't talking about 1995? Yes, there was a lot of discussion who should end up starting in 1995 because Brook played so well in 1994, but Frazier was FIRMLY ENTRENCHED as the starting QB heading into 1994.
  18. I'm not saying that Berringer didn't prove to be a worthy backup QB and he was very instrumental in the 1994 National Championship. But, personally, I think it's crazy to think that people were super confident in Berringer when Tommie went down with the blood clots in 1994. I had no confidence in the guy because he hadn't played much before the 1994 season. That's my point.
  19. Considering you would have no idea what my voice sounds like, it's probably natural to assign some type of voice to the words, and that is a fairly well-known reference.
  20. I think he is pretty busy with his business. The playground equipment supply industry. Hopefully we will see him on BTN again sometime. I thought he did a good job as a sideline guy. Well-spoken and insightful. Those sideline commentators you see in non-conference games do that on a freelance basis and are paid a per game fee. Damon Benning has done it for BTN, as well as Crouch. They definitely can't do it as a full-time job, unless they are picked up full-time by a channel. It's a good start in the business if they want to do it long-term, but difficult to make a career out of it. Did I dream this up or was Crouch in the booth for awhile? He might have done a game or two in the booth, as well.
  21. YOU'RE AN ____________!!!!! Sorry, I need to leave personal attacks for the Woodshed.
  22. I remember 1994 very well, thank you, as it was my freshman year at UNL. Even if I was drunk every weekend, I remember those games like the back of my hand. I never heard any talk about Tommie losing the starting job to Brook before the season. Maybe you have inside sources who were giving you this talk, but it's nothing I heard any reasonable fan say. Tommie had been the starter for 1 1/2 years and had just outplayed the Heisman Trophy winner in the 1994 Orange Bowl, so I don't think he was in danger of losing his job to Brook. I know a lot of people have super fond memories of Brook, and yes, he was a good player and great person. But, Frazier was by far the better QB.
  23. We were very confident in Brook Berringer, so not really a great comparison. However, when Brook got hurt (collapsed lung, which he played through!), everyone was nervous as hell to start Matt Turman. Turns out that Nebraska team was good enough to beat #16 Kansas State on the strength of the O Line and LP's legs alone. You do know that true and redshirt freshman have played across this land and some have done quite well against us. Difference being those players were ready to start. Some guys can start as Freshmen, some can't. POB isn't that guy. I wasn't confident in Berringer. When Frazier went down in '94, I thought NU was screwed and the National Championship hopes were gone. I'm glad that Brook proved me wrong.

  25. I was really good at math as a kid, and my dad was an engineer, so I always wondered what it would have been like going into engineering. However, a good % of my classmates in business school were former engineers that were getting their MBA and then going into the business side of things. I don't think I would have been any good at any other profession. I hate blood and guts, so I would have been an awful doctor. I can't argue things, so I would have been a terrible lawyer. I love sports and it would have been great to have gone into the business side of sports, but there just aren't many of those opportunities out there. I did have an insurance professor at UNL tell the class that they should look into being college professors and he spent a few minutes of the class going into how great of a life the college professor has. I wouldn't have been a good teacher though, and not sure I would have wanted to be on the research side of things. As others have said, it would be cool to work on a college campus and college city.
