  1. The team is playing to win games and championships. We may still have Bo, but I would rather have that conference championship experience and who knows what would have happened with the program after that.
  2. Really cool to bag on a kid who is able to attend a FBS school on a full ride scholarship and be around coaches he was comfortable with at Nebraska. Funny how people will jump all over a post about a kid who now plays for another school, but they have no problem with the poster he was responding to who jumps into every thread to bag on the Huskers with posts like the one above. Funny that. I guess we truly are the best fans in the world since we give more deference to other teams than our own team. /sarcasm I bag on coaches more than anything. I try not to rail on the players too hard, because they just kids to me (yes, I am one that calls 18-22 year olds kids). Yeah, I have been hard on Gangwish this year, but that was more to poke at PowerT. Plus, I think that Gangwish has gotten "too much press" for a guy who is a pretty average DE. If that rubs people the wrong way, so be it.
  3. Is anyone really surprised that Riley isn't planning on any staff changes. These are his best buddies. He is gonna ride it out with them, for better or worse.

  5. Or he can go the NFL, and spend 100% of his time getting better and earn a nice paycheck for his family.
  6. I know someone mentioned Osborne, but did Switzer have head coaching experience before taking over at OU? I thought he was just Fairbanks' offensive coordinator. I guess the comment has to do with external hires being first time HC's. Jimbo Fisher was also a first time HC, but was promoted from within.
  7. As in one game, one season.......2.0Yeah, it's real exciting to hear that a season is a throwaway season, after the fact. If it was a throwaway season, I wish I would have been told, so I didn't have to watch those pathetic games.
  8. Did you watch the game against Florida? He looked lost out there. No, I didn't watch the game. I have no idea if he is any good. I just linked him here because he is a graduate transfer. I am not trying to make a judgement on the guy, one way or the other.
  9. Looks like there is a UGa QB going the graduate transfer route. http://www.si.com/college-football/2015/12/04/georgia-bulldogs-faton-bauta-transfer-bowl-game
  10. I wouldn't. I think he is one that isn't a fan of the new defensive coaches. Just speculation, but I wouldn't be shocked if he goes pro. How high is he projected in the draft? He was playing beside a guy that took on at least two blockers almost every play. With that, he was good but I wouldn't say dominant enough to wow scouts and be a top draft pick. I have no idea where he is projected. It's just a hunch I have.
  11. I thought AT had the potential to be really good. I wonder if he ever fully healed from his injury. I still wish we got to see what Wilbon, Ozigbo, and Taylor could do. I can't fathom we won't have at least one of those three bolt. Frankly, I won't be shocked to see Wilbon and Ozigbo both leave. Not much potential for meaningful snaps in this offense for a RB, save for pass blocking or catching a pass out of the backfield. Why would Ozigbo leave? He will more than likely be the starter next year. He showed the most potential and based on all of his tweets and such that he really loves it here. I don't see Ozigbo leaving, but I have no idea how Riley and Reggie Davis assigns playing time, other than making sure the RB can pass block. It seems like that it the biggest priority they put on the RB position. So what...If these guys want a chance at the next level, they better know how to pass block. I see no issue with having a RB that is good at pass blocking and for the coaches to emphasize it. To me, a running back that is awesome at pass blocking is a luxury, especially at the college level. I think it's poor roster management if the coaches can't find any uses for RB's that are on the roster.

  14. Not sure we lose any. Iowa committed to the running game, even when it wasn't dominating. They didn't make Beathard win games with his arm. He threw more than 30 times in 3 games, we did it 8 times, and 3 games over 40 times. This Langsdorf and Riley choose play calling and their depth chart with the passing game in mind. They place no emphasis on the running game. This is why even a guy like Beathard could struggle in their offense.
  15. No Beck's offense was mostly Nevada Pistol read option, but he junked the pass portion of it for KU's pass attack I think. Ultimately it was some bastard hybrid that never really worked. Lol! After all these years, and now we finally have a name for it. I like this better than "multiple" Gawd, after hearing Beck say it so many times, I couldn't even teach my math class basic facts, I was so sick of the word. All it ever really amounted to was "multiple" misfires, "multiple" miscues, "multiple" screw-ups, and ultimately "multiple" inexplicable losses Now you know how I feel about the word "balance".+1
  16. Jack Gangwish thinks the Detroit D-line did a great job of maintaining contain on Aaron Rodgers that play.
  17. Totally different situation. TA was a RS freshman who was named the #2 QB behind Martinez in 2013. He was the next man up after TMart got injured and ended up missing most of the season.
  18. And Oregon. they return everyone that is impactful and they will upgrade at LB due to some juco recruiting. They being back Royce Freeman, and Thomas Tyner comes back from injury as well. All the wide outs are back. Most of the oline they play about 8-9 lineman regularly anyway. They bring back tons of experience at DL and Secondary. They need to find a QB but that won't be an issue next year with the young guys getting another year of experience in the system. Oregon will be super solid next year and will likely win the PaC12 I'm not chalking that up as a W for the Ducks. They are losing Scott Frost for starters. Secondly Nebraska will be a much better team next year and this is an early season game. Thirdly, Mike Riley is uber familiar with Oregon but rarely had the team to do anything about it. Lastly, it is in Lincoln and I think that tips the scale in the Huskers favor. I'm not sure that is entirely a benefit, as Oregon is very familiar with Riley as well. Oregon is familiar with kicking Riley's a$$ up and down the field from 2008-2014.

  20. I just don't think it's easy to say "If the QB plays better in games X, Y, and Z, then Nebraska wins those games." I don't think Armstrong lost the BYU game. He played well enough for NU to win that game. In the Miami game, the defense was such a mess, I don't know if it would have been different with another QB. Also, Armstrong's great play in the 4th, allowed NU to make it to OT. In all the close Big Ten games, there were just as many plays that Tommy made to keep NU in those games. Yes, he made mistakes, but let's not act like he was the sole reason NU lost those games. I don't think NU wins the Michigan State game with a "game manager" at QB. NU needed to score 39 points in that game to win, and Tommy was a big reason that NU scored that many points. I still say that Iowa was in complete control of that game, regardless of what the yardage stats say.
  21. Not sure we lose any. So, this is the new narrative? Wow. How many games do you think we would have lost if we had Beathard or any other "game manager" who would have thrown 3 ints all season? It's less than 7 for sure. I agree that it's less than 7. However, how do we know that Riley/Langsdorf doesn't try to force Beathard do what he isn't comfortable doing. I just don't get how people can assume that NU is going 10-2 (or even undefeated) with a different QB. The defense still pretty much sucked this year, and I think the offense is predicated on being high risk/high reward.
  22. Not sure we lose any. So, this is the new narrative? Wow.
