  1. After thinking about it further, I don't know if I have a "love" for football. I only played a couple years as a kid, and then another 2 years in high school. I love Husker football, and will also watch other college games on Saturday. I will have NFL games on during Sunday, but don't live or die with those games. My son is 8, and I won't be heart-broken if he doesn't play football. Now, I am a huge sports fan, but I am more into golf for myself and enjoying my son's baseball and soccer games.
  2. EDIT: I say I have a strong love for all sports. College football is my favorite sport, because of the Huskers. Born and raised in Nebraska. My parents have had season tickets for the Husker games for over 50 years. It's just a family tradition. Although since I am also a UNL alum, I have a strong love for all Nebraska sports.
  3. IMO there is a huge difference between TDA and Werner Park. TDA has the CWS feel, downtown Omaha, and the bar scene around it. I am sure Werner Park is nice, but it's Sarpy County.
  4. I think Columbus has a decent AAA stadium, but they don't get the attendance that TDA does.
  5. I wish I wouldn't have gambled while bowling with Ernie McCracken. I ended up losing my hand and had to perform sexual favors to keep my landlady from throwing me out of my apartment.
  6. Amen! I know some girls in their 30's, late 30's either that are smoking hot! The thing is, it is almost like they are the super hot girl back in high school. They have their pick of men! A super hot 35 year old with fake boobs basically have dudes from 27-55 all up in her biznass! When I check out Facebook (stalk girls I went to high school with) there are quite a few that are totally smoking hot in their late 30s, and they were just average in high school. I guess if a woman actually keeps herself in shape, develops some boobs after having a couple kids (or get fakers - had to say that for teach) then you can look great.
  7. I would go for it KC. When your kids get older, your lake house is going to be the sweet hangout. Yeah, that can be a pain in the ass, but it's better to have them hanging out at home where you can keep an eye on them, than having them out running around with some freaking idiots.
  8. True, don't be too hard on yourself. We all have thoughts about how things could have been different in high school. You also don't want to be one of those guys who thinks that the best days in their life were as a high school football player. Yea, I'm not that guy either. I have a few regrets, mostly just because I was a real idiot as a kid. I had fun, but I made some mistakes. I learned from it. I just missed some opportunities, academically as well, must because my lack of effort. I had what my mom called a "don't give a sh#t" attitude. It's the past. I know a lot of people probably have those what if's. I don't want to sound like I sit around and beat myself up about it too much. Just on the small list of woulda, shoulda, coulda's. My happiest days in my life started when I met my little girl, the day she came into the world and looked right at me. Then seven years later my little boy was born. Now I get to come him to my wife and my two kids every day. My 12 year old daughter still hugs me and says "hi daddy" when I come home, I hope she always does. My son doesn't speak a lot due to his epilepsy, but boy he sure as hell waves like crazy and he does know how to say "hi". He gets all excited and runs up to me almost every single day and I pick him up. He hugs me, and gives kisses. That boy loves the heck outta me same as I love him. I'd do anything to make him better, but I've still got him here with me and to me, that means these are the best days. As long as I get to see their smiling faces, I'm grateful. Sorry for the rant. Weird day today. Don't worry about the rant. Kids are great!!!
  9. I wish I would have gone through my business of creating the "jump to conclusions" mat. I think it would ahve been a gold mine!!!
  10. KC, I would be all over a lake house in South Carolina. I assume it gets hot as balls in the summer time, and you will be able to use it for a good number of months during the year.

  12. I am just curious where this is? Are you in a smaller city in Central/Western Nebraska? If you are, you might as well go live on the lake, because there is really nothing keeping you "in the city". If your drive gets longer by 5-10 minutes, that's nothing.
  13. Great win Huskers!!! GBR!!!

  14. OMG....when I was first married, my wife would go get something to eat in the evening and then want to sit right by me and snuggle while she ate it. So...I'm trying to watch something on TV and have to hear this crunching right in my ear. Thank GOD she finally got the message that drove me nuts. If your wife is going to sit by you while you are watching TV, her mouth should be full of something else. Hey-oh!!!
  15. Not sure how or why my family ended up in 'Murica. I only know family history going back a 2-3 generations. My dad's family settled in Western Iowa and Eastern Nebraska around the 1900's. My mom's family is generally around the Lincoln area. My maternal grandmother's family have/had their family farm east of Lincoln, along the Cass/Lancaster County border.
  16. My biggest pet peeves --people who are slow at doing everything (walking, driving, etc.). --people who are constantly late (how hard is it to do something on time!!) --dumb people (it's amazing how stupid the majority of America is)
  17. While I agree that it sucks to have to pay on a loan. I would say that it's good to have cash in a rainy-day fund that you have available. You never know when you might have a large expense pop up, and if you have used your cash to pay off a loan, you will end up using a credit card to pay for this miscellaneous expense. The interest on your loan is pretty minimal. Yes, you aren't earning that much interest on your money in savings, but that's not a bad price to pay for peace of mind. My recommendation is to keep the money you currently have in savings and not touch it. If you are looking to pay off your loan sooner, then increase your monthly payments.
  18. When Oberyn came into the show, I wondered how his character was fitting in. It looks like now we know, as he is volunteering to be Tyrion's champion. The scene with Oberyn & Tyrion was classic. Dinklage did a phenomenal job reacting to Oberyn's story of meeting baby Tyrion. He didn't say anything, but his facial reactions were classic.
  19. It depends on how drunk I was the night before or how drunk I was going into the game. At the Minny game last year, I had no desire to buy any beer at the stadium. Of course, I might have been the drunkest guy in Minneapolis on Friday night and it was an 11 am kickoff.
  20. This week's episode will definitely be used to Peter Dinklage's submission for the Emmy. His performance was fantastic.
  21. That was a very strong episode of GoT. Tyrion is so AWESOME!!!
  22. It is the catch 22 of wanting to own a bar...you want to turn it into your party-zone and use it to have fun and hire hotties... The problem is...you gotta pay those pesky bills and make some cash! I think most every guy has thought, even if just for a moment, how cool it would be to own a bar. Mine would fail before Taffer could even make it! The just gets into the whole motivation for opening a bar. If you are doing it to run a solid business and make money and have a little fun doing it, you could be successful. But, if your motive is for a party time, it's going to fail miserably. Teach would be the guy who is drinking at his own bar, trying to hook up with his wait-staff, giving away drinks to anyone with a D-cup, and the place would be filthy. Basically, he would be a combo of all of Taffer's nightmare bar owners. Yes, yes, yes... ColoHusks bar would have all Husker stuff...AND...he would "walk around" his bar and chat with the customers and try to correct them and educate them on all things Huskers...plus he would want the Sidetracks band there "Actually, it was Jeff Smith who took the pitch from Turner Gill in the '84 Orange Bowl to make it 31-30. It wasn't Mike Rozier. Rozier hurt his ankle during the game, and wasn't playing near the end."
