  1. Having a good record when we have an easy schedule just creates the illusion that everything's fine and no changes are necessary (assuming we'd even finish the year with a good record). This year was the real test, and at this point I don't think anyone can argue that we're anywhere close to passing.
  2. Jamey Chadwell is, for me, the coaching equivalent of a backup QB sitting behind a struggling starter at this point. Bring him in, what could it hurt? I think the question of who we'd hire to replace Frost if we fired him is easier to answer than the question of who'd hire him if we fired him. He might be alright going back to a non-P5 school, but I can't drink the "we're almost there" kool-aid anymore. Frost is in over his head.
  3. If that doesn't sum up Husker football in a nutshell I don't know what does.
  4. I was one of the people who was kinda on the fence as to whether or not he was a big part of the problem, but there's no way to deny it at this point.
  5. At this point our receivers can't even help Martinez when he does throw a decent pass. This team is just sad.
  6. If nothing else, Jamey Chadwell is a good answer to anyone who claims Frost hasn't had enough time to turn the Huskers around.
  7. Martinez is the gift that keeps on giving. Merry Christmas, Purdue.
  8. Judging by some of the comments I see on the Husker Facebook groups I'm in, half the fanbase swears Frost has gone at least 9-3 every year.
  9. I wanted Bo gone because he couldn't win big games and was mediocre at recruiting. The ineptitude of the coaching staffs we brought in after we fired him hasn't changed my opinion on that.
  10. I thought it was cool for one game, but I'd rather see them mix up the music selection for it.
  11. Too many people would have a conniption if Callahan ever showed his face in Lincoln again. Personally, I wouldn't be opposed to it, but I doubt he'd ever take a job as a college OL coach.
  12. Whatever corner we thought the team was starting to turn, it feels like today they turned around and went back around it the other way. There may have been some games over Martinez's tenure here at Nebraska that we wouldn't have won without him, but there are just as many that we may have won with someone else under center. We could never have the consistency we'd need to claw our way back to relevancy as long as he's our starting QB. Speaking of consistency, I wish that our team had more of it where we actually need it. We consistently find ways to lose games, and that's about it.
  13. Martinez is certainly partly to blame, but Frost and the rest of the coaching staff (aside from maybe Chinander) aren't helping matters any.
  14. What's funny is that somebody on one of the Facebook Husker groups I'm in was talking about how Iowa hasn't played anybody and we're going to steamroll them when we play them. He may have been right about the first part of that statement, but hopefully this game made him realize how absurd the second part was.
  15. Remind me how this is the same team that went toe-to-toe with Michigan and Oklahoma.
  16. This team has a ton of heart, but heart doesn't win football games against tough opponents. We're better than we played against Illinois, but as long as we keep shooting ourselves in the foot in critical situations, we're not good enough. Leaving points off the board in the first half has a funny way of coming back to bite you in the second half. Martinez is still the guy who can dazzle you with a few good plays, then turn right around and give the game away.
  17. Why is the crowd reacting to the penalty? It didn't matter
  18. Defense did what they had to. There's still a chance...
