It perfectly illustrates the "us versus them" attitutude that defined the Bo Pelini era and created the toxicity around the program that led to everyones' misery and Pelini's dismissal. Pelini wasn't fired for only winning 9 games, he was fired for fostering this divide in the program. Serious question What coach of any worth would come here knowing that 9 wins isn't enough to save his job along with the built in disadvantages to getting top recruits? The coach will have a tough time winning next year so basically he'll be expected to win at least 10 games and a big ten title within 3 years to keep his job -

not my words but pretty exact thoughts- for those of you that can't stand Bo's yelling- grow a sack All anyone would have to do is listen to Osborne speak at several events over the last 3-4 years and you'd hear him detail why it's so much harder for Bo now than it was for him. 1) Tom took over a National Championship program. Bo took over a pile of crap. 2) Nebraska owned walkons and recruits in Nebraska in the 70s and most of the 80s. Now, everyone recruits Nebraska. 3) Tom took non-qualifiers, partial qualifiers and could recruit any number of scholarship guys a year as long as room existed for them when school started. Bo cannot. The Big Ten doesn't allow it. 4) Behavioral rules have changed a lot. Tom will be the first to tell you that until 1996, he made the call on guys who can play. Now, Bo has no say on guys the University decides to discipline. Alexander would be playing now. Moss would be playing now. Under Tom, they'd be in the lineup. Bo would like to play them. He can't. The SEC and other schools can take guys we can't take. Their disciplinary policies are They can take risks we cannot take. They can leave guys who assault women not only on the team, but start them. NU cannot. 5) Bo's first 3 years, he geared his team for the Big 12 and recruited accordingly. In mid stream, that changed. Moved to a conference probably the least like the Big 12 of all the conferences. 6) Bo went to 3 Big 12/10 CG's in 6 years. That's winning a 6 team conference. Tom struggled to win an 8 team conference until Barry Switzer left save for the triplet years. Bo beat KST (3-0), KU (3-0), OKST (1-0), Iowa State (2-1), CU (3-0), Missouri (2-1) and OU 1-2). That's going 15-4 against the old Big 8, the teams Tom had to beat. That's just under 80% winning percentage. That compares nicely with Tom's his first 7 years against the Big 8 teams, and he had a much better situation. I haven't even gone into the shift in population from northern schools to the south and west, the recruiting rules becoming more difficult in terms of contacts, permissible visits, planes, support, etc...the lack of great players from Omaha over the last several years that were being produced pretty regularly in the 80s and 90s, or the diminished attraction to Nebraska now that TV shows everyone, not just the teams like Nebraska and Oklahoma every week in the Big 8. It's maddening that you have to explain this stuff to Nebraska fans, until you realize NU fans are among the dumbest on the planet. They have no idea why Tom won, and why Bo is trying to build his program on the same foundational principles. All they remember are the early 80s and the mid 90s. Because they are fuckking stupid.

the national media are lazy- they get all their information from the Weird Herald or make crap up during the games sort of like ESPN's SEC love affair, notice all reports mentioned the injuries to Georgia, but didn't say a word about Martinez and the entire O line? also Georgia gave us that game via dropped passes, but no mention of Turners "dropped" TD? Yes Sipple is the only member of the Nebraska media that gives Bo and/or the team a fair shake and that is unfortunate because the national vermin media are a bunch of lazy sententious tards that copy what is said in the Omaha media and make crap up- also it doesn't help when old harv and his sock puppet undermine our football program- We're bringing in a new Admin CFO- want to bet, he says no to the list of things Bo actually needs to compete on the field?

it'd be interesting to see how many of you folks that think Bo's a dick or just feel entitled to winning championships went to the Gator Bowl. I did, and out of the few dozen fans I talked to, not one of them thought Bo was a bad coach for us- that said, another interesting thing (for me) was most of them were not from eastern Nebraska, but places like Texas, Georgia, Florida and California.(me included) Could it be that wieners like Dirk Shatforbrains influence the views of eastern Nebraskans ? Seems like the further you are from the Weird Heralds reach, the more you appreciate what Bo has to put up with- Of course, when I'm dealing with fools, I tell them to F-off too, so maybe that brash and honest behavior turns off the otiose, panty wearing part of our fan base.
