  1. does anyone remember this suspend ion was not for showing his wienie, but for violating the condition they put on him for showing his wienie ,? Kind of kills the whole self-righteous point of view by some. We already forgave him for wienie flashing.
  2. Hey Synder is 75 nice Mike looks to be in good health, has anyone in the media even asked him how long he plans on coaching?
  3. I'd say we'll go 9-3 regular season- so with a bowl win we could be plus one. This is all based on a somewhat easy schedule- i.e. new coaching at Wisconsin and a home game with them as well as MSU and Iowa at home. BYU's QB, if 100% might be the wild card in all of this but they say he isn't even walking on his own yet I see losses to MSU (even at home) Minnesota, and Miami I'd say that Rutgers could be a loss but they lose a lot of players. all in all, we'll be in the same spot as last year, give or take
  4. No matter what happens in the future its hard to argue that every coach on the new staff isn't better than the same position on the old staff. Banker may not be the answer... Pap (I mean Bo) wasn't anything great. Pap was basically a wasted coaching position because Bo overruled anything he said. Bo didn't have his hand in the O as much but as we know he liked to force play calls (like the pass on 2nd and 1 vs Minn) or dictate starters (Taylor, M Pelini, et al). Let's give Riley a chance... he already has more wins vs. top 10 opponents than NU does in this millenium. But save your remarks about how you can't recruit at Nebraska... blah blah. Really, that's hard to argue? You know nothing about how these new coaches will perform. Won't you be ripping into them if we lose to BYU? Tell me where I'm wrong. Riley vs Bo Banker vs Pap/Bo Bray vs Els Warren vs Warren (plus a year experience and no micromanagement. ) Cavanaugh vs Garrison or Barney (with Bo meddling with starters) Read vs Els (special teams) It seems that Riley's staff is both more experienced and organized better than Bo's was. From what I have seen the only place we won't be better is at RB coach. But that's thr least important position (RBs either have talent or they don't for the most part) on the staff and should be a great recruiter. Brown didn't put as much into recruiting as he used to. All that being said coaching improvements alone may not have measurable results. If we lose to BYU then I will place blame where it is deserved. Brown has never been a good recruiter as he doesn't believe in putting in those kind of hours. Each coach deserves six years before they are judged on thier results. The first four they have to deal with what was left by the previous coaching staff, which may be good (Tom for Frank) or bad (Frank for Bill). Two years after the previous coaches last recruiting class should give you a good idea of what that staff will bring you in the future. first four years you are going to give the new guys a pass altogether?.........wow, seems after 2 or 3 you should see some real improvement, as half the guys playing will be recruited and coached up by the new coaches........4-6 years the pattern is set...without a doubt, but things should show steady improvement way before then....i want to see that steady improvement in the first 4 years, old recruits or not! and seeing that the bad coaches consistently won 9 or more games a year, the new improved coaching staff should at least match that number the first two or three years and after that need to win the BIG and play in the national championship playoff- I'd say that is the minimum expectation
  5. OH NO! IT'S A PERSON WHO UNDERSTANDS LAW! Actually two lawyers and not very good lawyers to boot, for those who actually do understand contract law If we're talking contract law, in the sense of Bo's contract, you do realize that was pre-Eichorst? So that would be Perlman and Osborne, who didn't understand it. Makes sense, since one of those was a member of US Congress. try to comphrehend that not everything is about Bo Osborne wasn't ad when Perlman left out the mitigation clause for callhn and pedey - try to keep up , also the dipwad ginger has done zero litigation as far as being a lawyer so he must be good
  6. OH NO! IT'S A PERSON WHO UNDERSTANDS LAW! Actually two lawyers and not very good lawyers to boot, for those who actually do understand contract law
  7. So you prefer idiots who have to scream to get their points across (and still fail miserably at doing so). Got it. Those of us who actually played football understand he's just a football coach being a coach. I take responses like these as people who never likely never played the game nor understand it at the lowest form. Just my personal opinion. You are do quick to say he yells because he is an idiot? Wow I figured out was because he wants to win and knows how much work everyone has put into preparing to win that it makes him mad when the plan isn't executed and the team doesn't win or make a play. That's what I learned from my coach of football anyways.IMO IMO I've had coaches who yelled and coaches who didn't yell. There are loads of successful college coaches who don't get in their players' faces and scream at them during games. In the games where Pelini melted down and screamed, how often did Nebraska end up winning the game? And what happened when he yelled at referees? Normally he got more penalties. His yelling rarely resulted in something good happening for his team. If it had actually worked, I would be more forgiving. So you really have no moral high ground on this issue? A prostitute feels it's good when the john pays her, if you were a fan of women you'd be ok with that too?
  8. So you prefer idiots who have to scream to get their points across (and still fail miserably at doing so). Got it. God, you remind me of some crotchity old woman. maybe the word Bo used to describe eichorst?
  9. Talk about people not being able to let things go, making up crap about Bo calling the media and ranting , what's next? saying Bo actually killed the raccoon ? So some of you actually think Bo called in and left VOICEMAILS sounding like a raving nut and they weren't released to the public....really? everything Bo has done in private seems to have been taped and released-because a lot of weasels wanted Bo gone, so why did we not hear the voicemails? why? because it's BS Some of you guys are pretty funny and a little quixotic in your thoughts- I have a prediction, YSU in 2-3 years will be winning 9-10 games per year and their fans won't get the vapors when Bo yells and curses.
  10. So Jerry Tagge is no longer a part of the Husker tradition? Also, lets not rewrite history and say that Bill Callahan's offensive system didn't work here. In 2006 we had the #8 offense in the country with balanced passing/rushing. Zac Taylor did just fine as a pro style QB. And don't forget Ganz at the end of 07 and in 08 running Watsons/Callahans system. I'm not a Callahan apologist, but his offense wasn't the problem. TO said the same as a reason he asked Bo to keep Watson and Gilmore. Let us not forget David Humm either, a lefty that went on to the NFL as a QB. Can anyone say Vince Ferragamo??
  11. Why would you think he hated all Nebraska fans- that conversation you refer to was "specific" to the Ahole fans who left the stadium verses Ohio State- everything Bo said in that context was true, and not unreasonable, given the fact that he specifically called them out- and those so called fans are the exact ones that are butt-hurt because Bo hates them- as for this job being a stepping stone for Bo, we'll never know that answer , the ahole fans and Perlman got their pitchforks out and made sure it would have to be a stepping stone. Yeah snakes support the likes of team Jack and make sure the kids are doing well in school, so if Bo is a snake that must mean snakes are honorable reptiles- which is more than I could say for some Nebraska fans Get real. The fans who left might have been what set him off, but it was pretty clear that he was talking about the fan base as a whole. Pretty sure he wasn't saying that the 12 or so people who left the game were going to regret it when he left for another job. Also, the Team Jack stuff is such bullsh#t. Right when it happened, the press widely reported that it was Rex and a few other players who came up with the idea. Then somehow the whole thing became "Bo's idea." No way. I suppose he gets credit for having the good sense not to shoot it down, but there's 0% chance it was his idea. Guaranteed. it wasn't clear, or to use my word "pellucid" and you have no proof of either of your points- again, we differ in opinions so do not state 0% when you have no real idea that is correct- and yes I can see why Bo despised fans that had these opinions

  13. So we're hoping a lying DBag of a recruiter / coach comes to Nebraska- wow, anyone checked out his ethics when he left Tennessee ? of course he learned how to be a lying Dbag in the SEC so maybe the NCAA wouldn't catch him- can anyone say Blake? We never learn, I want him to stay as far away as possible- ok you can all fire away
  14. Everyone knows Bo couldn't recruit because the only time he was worth anything was when he used Callahan recruits, who was the best recruiter ever, why would MR want to hold on to them?
  15. We need to tell Riley he can't win 9 games. He can only win less than 9 or win more than 9. NEVER 9! you made me laugh with that one...thanks
  16. We need to tell Riley he can't win 9 games. He can only win less than 9 or win more than 9. NEVER 9! My point is 9 means sh#t. How did we play? Who did we play? The number 9 is irrelevant. So if we play well and lose you're ok with a losing season
  17. this is great for Bo ...he gets to go home work at a place that could get him back into a major coaching position while sticking Perlman with the bill. Go Bo- I'm now a fan of two Ohio schools - YSU and Ohio
  18. Now, I liked Bo. I don't think there is any doubt about that. And I have made it pretty clear I'm skeptical about the hire, but let's not go crazy. If he's going to fail, let him do it on the field. But give the guy a god damned chance. We might not be super excited about the assistant hires, or his hire in general. But I have a feeling this guy knows what he can do with this staff. That should be worth something. Good post. It seems there are many Husker fans ready to crucify Riley before he's even coached his first game as the NU head coach. I think there are a lot of Bo-lievers out there (not all) trying to get out their frustrations on Riley for Bo's termination. Which is insane! You can believe Bo got a raw deal and get behind the new guy. It's not like Mike is at fault for Bo being fired. Mike is not at fault for Bo being fired, however I find it quixotic of the Bo hating fans and the Ginger saying, give him a chance, but who also said Bo should be fired based on his lack of wins in games of "substance" or that he wasn't moving the program forward. I'm open minded enough to give Mike a chance right up to the point where one of two things happen. 1. He has a losing season 2. he loses two games of substance by more than 28 points and posts a record of less than 9 wins Simple isn't it? emotions should play a part in this I think for most Husker fans, the standards you are setting would start in year 3. Anytime there is a transition, it will take time for the new coach to raise the results from the prior coach. If Riley wins 7 or 8 games in his first or 2nd season, but wins a conference title in his 3rd, I'm ok with that. I would not be ok if he goes 7 years like Pelini and does not win a championship. So you'd be ok with him if he had a losing season? you'd also be ok with him if he lost a few games the "mattered" by 28 points? the third year speculation wasn't part of my supposition so I'm not sure where to start- although anyone who remembers the big12 championship game with Texas knows that Bo basically won that game and title, but it is nice to forget that now I guess
  19. ...and that should be completely unacceptable If that happens. 9 wins (or more) next year. NO EXCUSES. It is just as likely for Bo to get us 7 wins next season. Losses: BYU with their freak QB back, Miami, Mich St, Wisconsin, Minny, NW or Iowa. Do I expect it to happen? No I sure don't but it isn't impossible without Gregory or Ameer on our roster I don't think the BYU QB is a "freak" anymore....he broke his leg and probably won't be in the game next year If that happens then a win against BYU becomes much more likely. Rehab is 6 months which started a month ago. Taysom Hill has said he expects to be fully healthy and ready to go full speed when fall practices start. He's also had a previous injury before which has helped him a lot mentally while rehabbing this current one. He also denied reports of ligaments shattered, and confirmed his leg was broken. He'll be ready to go. Will be a big test for Huskers, new coach or former. yes most players are full of hope, so were most people who voted for Obama- I saw the play that injured him, if they figure out how to transplant a bionic leg then I'll concede that you might be right on calling him a "freak" I guess we'll both have to wait to see who was right on this one.
  20. The media is just an extension of the people they serve, especially when it comes to sports. I got on Huskerboard within minutes of Bo getting fired and saw people already talking about Tressel - I don't think the media had much to do with that. Talk radio also deals a lot in rumors because that's what they do - talk. If they only talked about facts their shows would be pretty short. You have to make your own opinions and the people that eat up what the media says need to as well. The one thing people keep bringing up about Riley is he's a developer of talent. He hones it to the best of his abilities, and over the last several years, he's been doing it with mediocre talent and it's been producing. Could he have done better? Sure. But, even Boise State, a team with very mediocre talent that took the national stage by storm, has fallen off the national scope for the last couple seasons now. Put Riley in a place with significantly better resources and much better access to talent... really good things could happen. Look at it this way, too. I don't think Meyer, Saban, Miles, Stoops, or any other 'elite' coach would win 10, 11 or 12 games at Oregon State every year. IMHO Grandpa Synder would
  21. yes a twitter or a personal email to each of us I think the ginger would agree, not sure about the current players though-

  23. this board flipped from 30/70 in favor of Pelini to 80/20 against in a matter of 3 games. he was likely getting fired after Wisconsin regardless, Minny sealed the deal. TO would have done the same thing, if not the program was going to implode on itself. thank you for your opinion- I don't think TO would have fired him so we have a difference of opinion, however I also think TO wouldn't have fired Solich - but the fact remains that Perlman hated him - and that may not be the ONLY reason Bo was let go but it was a major reason- BTW I don't know many people (other than message board fans) who thought it was a good idea to fire a coach who had a 9-3 record- oh well, there is nothing to learn from history
  24. "Pellucid" Learn a new word today? Pellucid - translucent, transparent, crystalline, glassy, limpid, unclouded. Obvious would have been a better choice of word. T_O_B I think you're being nebulous by questioning my use of words-
