admo
4 of 6 teams so far are traditionally known among the CWS bleacher bums. Pretty exciting to see Oral Roberts and Wake Forest earning their way in too. If Southern Miss wins the Super Regional tonight, it would be their 2nd visit to Omaha. The only time they made the CWS was back in 2009. Oral Roberts only trip to Omaha was 1978 Wake Forest only trip to Omaha was 1955 Quote Link to comment

Both teams playing like it was the championship game of the world. As the game goes on you see the Dugouts get nervous.... hitters in the batter's box nervous... pitchers on the mound tryna throw the perfect pitch, and be nervous........ Both teams fighting and dying inside to explode and feel that jubilation/celebration..... Just a great game with so much riding on it - you could feel the pressure with every pitch and every swing of the bat. Which is why I think this is the perfect ending to the game, for one team to lose and one team to win. If this don't happen we prolly see 3 or 4 extra innings until someone else makes a mishap and rally. Great game. Congrats to Stanford ! 2 Quote Link to comment
admo
College World Series set for June 16th in Omaha ! 8 teams - Double elimination format - Championship Series (3 game) Oral Roberts vs TCU Virginia vs Florida Stanford vs Wake Forest Tennessee vs LSU Quote Link to comment
sho
My dream scenario would be UVA vs Tennessee for the championship. Get to hang out with some friends that I haven't seen in awhile, both work for the respective universities. Quote Link to comment

Oh for sure. 2 outs with Runner on first and 2nd.... and getting a huge pop up to end the inning. He did his job. The whole team watch it and felt like "what the H just happen ?!?!!" admo
Nice to see that a few (take your pick) traditional CWS powerhouse programs not in the tourney....... Vanderbilt, Texas, Oregon State, Florida State, Arkansas, and a few others I could easily mention.. It is always nice to see a few fresh faces in the tourney. Most definitely not their first rodeo - Florida, LSU, Virginia, Stanford, TCU, Tennessee Quote Link to comment
admo
A couple of 9th inning rallies on Day 1 of the CWS. Oral Roberts trailed 5-2 going into 9th inning - and beat TCU 6-5 Florida trailed 5-3 going into 9th inning - and beat Virginia 6-5 Quote Link to comment
sho
All 4 first games I thought were really good and had some drama late. LSU was the most dominant, but once they went to the pen, it got a little interesting for a minute. 1 Quote Link to comment
admo
It's been an enjoyable CWS so far. Downside is that the excitement doesn't pick up until innings 7-9. But overall, some really good teams playing for all the marbles. Quote Link to comment
admo
Also noticed that our poor Huskers don't look anything like these teams. Meaning, NU could finish 2nd or 4th in the B1G and still seem like they don't have the roster or enough depth and talent to compete in these games (or coaching). If they want to play for Omaha, if they are ever going to make it there, pay attention to these teams. Huskers have to put it together ASAP. The CWS is right in their back yard for goodness sake.
