husker rob
i am back from iraq for 2 weeks starting today, but i am still traveling back to Nebraska. right now i am sitting at DFW airport waiting for my connecting flight to Omaha. this is the second time i have come through dallas on my way back from "down range" and i am impressed with the patriotism of these texans. first, after we got off the plane, there was a gauntlet of people shaking hands, thank you's, hugs, and such. walking up and down the terminal killing time, i stopped by a sports bar to rehydrate, and 3 people wanted to buy me a beer, before i got half way into the bar. i ate lunch at TGIFridays and someone paid for my lunch. it has been an awesome experience so far. i had to come in to the Admirals Club so i wouldnt get wasted and have to be poured in my seat back to omaha. i am still in uniform and i am not supposed to be drinking while in uniform or on travel status. a big thank you to all of the Husker fans on this board, and today a special thank you to the texas based Husker Fans Quote Link to comment

AR Husker Fan
***SNIP*** walking up and down the terminal killing time, i stopped by a sports bar to rehydrate, and 3 people wanted to buy me a beer, before i got half way into the bar. i ate lunch at TGIFridays and someone paid for my lunch. ***SNIP*** That's the least folks should do for our soldiers. I may not agree on the necessity of the war, or the reasons for being there, but I commend each and every one of you that answer the call of duty. Quote Link to comment
