Vuren
Last year the Giants started switching to a more no huddle 2 minute offense look because of issues of the quarter back struggeling. Do you think that Callahan should do the same with Keller? Keller seemed to have more of a groove going when he didn't have to think about it and just relied on his natural ablities and instincts. no_name_needed_2001
He looked amazing against WF in the two minute... I say we should do it from time to time atleast Quote Link to comment
bennychico11
I agree, the entire team looks better...not just Keller. We looked great against A&M last year doing the same thing with Taylor too. Callahan says it's because they practice doing that every single day. It's hard for the team I think to get into the two minute mentality when they see 14:00 left on the game clock. But I think it would wear teams down earlier and ruin their confidence if we came in and pushed it 99 yards for a touchdown everytime we had it. Quote Link to comment

The defense was playing soft though. Not sure that would just automatically work just because of that one drive. Quote Link to comment
kc_husker
Thats funny you guys bring that up. My son and I were watching the Cally show on tuesday night and we were discussing the same thing. Quote Link to comment
ekampa8008
The best drive that we had was when we were under pressure with 1:30 left in the first half of the Wake game. We need to play like that all the time! And who is S. Hill anyways? I know now but when it happened I had no idea! S. Hill for PREZ! Quote Link to comment
admo
If the Huskers fall behind 3 scores then yah, I can see it possibly happening at that time. Outside of that I dont see it over taking the game plan. Quote Link to comment
I Bleed RED
It works usually because the defense won't blitz and they are playing zone coverage. Put those things together and you have success...but if you try it to often then you will get burned. 2 things will happen, first our 2 minute offense isn't a no huddle offense in the traditional sense where the play and adjustments are called at the line of scrimmage. They have set plays for the 2 minute offense. They defense will adjust if you try to play that way the whole game. Then will no chance to audible you are screwed when they set up the right defense. Secondly, you will give USC more touches b.c you will be giving them the ball back a lot quicker. Bad idea in this offense unless it really is a 2 minute offense, like end of game or end of half. Maybe you guys want them to try and run a no huddle offense. If so, that will take a lot of practice. Quote Link to comment
Foppa
I think NU should run it the first series. No-huddles and quick snaps...we'd find out pretty quick how rusty and/or organized USC is. Quote Link to comment
Valentine
Run a few times and then hit em with a play action pass to Mo P!!! We gotta win in the trenches! Quote Link to comment
I See Red People
I don't see this happening. Our guys will no doubt be pumped and over excited. Add in a 2 minute drill and guys may make mistakes. I would rather see us have a 5 minute drive and make the defense feel terrible. Set the tone early. Quote Link to comment
TheKiD
The 2-minute offense is what it is.. it takes advantage of the defense playing a zone-prevent d to keep a big play from happening before the end of the half/game. It relies on making quick side-line throws for about 5-6 yards. The reason we look so good running it is that we know exactly which plays (very limited) we will run, and if the D is playing zone prevent.. our QB and receivers are just playing catch out there. This would NOT work as an overall gameplan, because there are two few plays we can run and the defense isn't just going to sit back in a zone the whole game while we complete 80% of our passes for 5-6 yards a pop. Though it could work at other points besides last 2 minutes of each half. Any situation where we want to try and get a score without taking much time off the clock we could use this from time to time if they stay in zone d. And though playing the 2-minute too much won't work I would like to see some more sideline passes when the D is in zone coverage. And would like to see some more deep slants when they're in man coverage. What you have with the Giants and the Colts are, well besides being brothers, they are good at reading defenses and calling the plays at the line of scrimmage (they have the benefeit of a headset in their helmets so the coach can call in the playset), so they don't need to huddle. This is HUGE because it doesn't allow the defense to rotate fresh players in. Anyway, those guys look like they're running the 2-minute offense the whole game.. and then when you see them actually run a 2-minute offense.. it's crazy! You sneeze and they've ran 3 plays for 20 yards, lol. Quote Link to comment
Touchdown Tommie
I think if BC can get a long drive to start the game and then come back out the next series in the two minute to see if he can get a quick score, it may help them. The line has to set the tone early with the long drive at first IMO. Quote Link to comment
HUSKER 37
2 minute offense? What..and miss all that fancy motion before the snap? Quote Link to comment
