Greatest guitar players thread

Oh you guys are killing me....I know he's not the best but, he's my favorite guitarist

Watch the entire thing.......he's a guitar legend

That guy sounds a lot like Eddie Van Halen.

Still upset at them for not coming out with an album the Summer of '82? and forcing me to buy Michael Jackson's Thriller to feed my VH fix. <_<

Plus he somehow stole my Battery/screw gun to the pickups idea...

They played out here last Friday, but didn't find out about it in time.

I still wonder why Rolling Stone has him so far down their list of 100 greatest...Because Rolling Stone seldom has any idea what they're talking about.

He is very one dementional IMO.

I would agree.

what do you mean?

I see, but you could say he was one of the first shredders who tries to play a million notes per second!?

VH has some good stuff without him trying to play fast..

Dance the Night Away

Runnin with the Devil

--------------------------------

and one of the most original songs out there

Hot for Teacher

Well, regardless, I know what your saying, I just think he's separated himself a little more than what your giving him credit for.

Dance the Night Away?..

Probably my least fav. VH tune With DLR.

I couldn't even stomach Jagger/Bowie's version and Barely Martha and the Vandells?

Loved Runnin with/Devil, though.

I guess I appreciated Eddie's experimentation with the instrument ...Not always playing it to conform with accepted practice?

But the constant high frequency hiss on almost all of their recordings made the backside of my brain hurt.

As I mentioned before my favorite guitarist is Jimmy McCulloch, best known for being Paul McCartney's lead guitarist in Wings from 1974-1977.

did i miss something

Stevie Ray Vaughn not on anyones list, come on

He's the reason I bought my Strat..

Now if I can just figger out how to tune it...

there is these little nobby thingies on the end of it, i think that if you turn them one direction that it will tighten and if you turn it the other direction they will loosen the strings.

lefty=loosey

righty=tighty
