knapplc
That's good, because alot of times if a person is used to hot weather and spend a winter in Nebraska they tend to not like it and leave rather quickly. True, but it's a lot easier to like Lincoln when you're living here and making upwards of $150K (not that I would know). Quote Link to comment
NEHUSKERS311
Question isnt Bryan Bailey one of our strength coaches the one that left to go to USC or am I thinking of someone else?? Quote Link to comment
knapplc
Question isnt Bryan Bailey one of our strength coaches the one that left to go to USC or am I thinking of someone else?? Nope, that's the right guy. I would have liked to see him get a chance to come back here, but he's probably pretty happy where he's at. Quote Link to comment

Well the reason I asked was I thought I heard he might be coming back.. I heard TO wanted him back really bad and that he wanted to get out of LA an come back to Nebraska just wondering what happen with that ?? Quote Link to comment
T_O_Bull
I think that this position is 4th on the list of most important, and may be second. The most important positions on the team are the OL and DL. This guy is entrusted with turning them into monsters. I sincerely hope he does. >>>T_O_B Quote Link to comment
huskered17
Mike Ekeler, who is an assistant strength coach at LSU, similar to what Joe Rudolph did at Ohio State is also joining the staff. I've been told Ekeler has a lot of experience and he's real tight with the Pelini's and Stoops'. He's actually from Blair, NE and played at K-State. Another Husker connection is he's former NU All-American Bob Martin's nephew. Both Ekeler and John Papuchis are already on the road recruiting. So with those two LSU guys on board, I believe that makes one spot left on staff that we haven't confirmed....I've got Carl Pelini, Ron Brown, Barney Cotton, Marvin Sanders, Shawn Watson, Ted Gilmore, Mike Ekeler and John Papuchis as eight of the nine guys on staff...I believe that leaves one offensive spot open at this point...I'm hearing it could be Randy Jordan for the final spot. ekler is going to do very very well for yall. good pick up. i know papuchis personnaly, through his wife, he's been wanting out of br for a while now. Hope they like cold winters and hot humid summers. Hey!!!!, I remember May being great though GBR!!! Quote Link to comment

o-line54
After living in the south for a while, summers feel pretty dry when returning to Nebraska for a visit I agree with you. I was born in Memphis, Tn and lived there until I was 13, and I am fortunate for the dryer weather up here. The humidity down south is sometimes unbearable. So it'll be a nice change of pace for them. Quote Link to comment
harp
[Hope they like cold winters and hot humid summers. i wouldn't worry about that tooo much, i think papuchis is from kansas and you'd be surprised how much heat you can buy when you have five zero's in your salary. Quote Link to comment

T_O_Bull
Is strength training coach a purely football position or does it involve all sports? If its the later I would think the position would involve a number of people. >>>T_O_B Quote Link to comment
