RedDenver
callahan had a great recriuting class this year we were ready to turn the corner but no one wanted to wait one more year we will pay a price for him getting fired Actually, I think Callahan was the price we paid for firing Solich. Now we need to recover from BC which is going to take some time and some hits to recruiting. Quote Link to comment
T_O_Bull
callahan had a great recriuting class this year we were ready to turn the corner but no one wanted to wait one more year we will pay a price for him getting fired Callahan didn't need our help. He did quite well getting himself fired. He didn't recognize the importance of Nebraska Traditions. He thought he could treat college players the same way you treat NFL players. He brought in a Big Ten coach to be our DC and the man could not field a defence that could stop anyone for very long. In the end he couldn't win three of his last four games which would have probably saved his job but not the jobs of several of his assistants. Bill Callahan got himself fired. If you are going to place blame, place it in the right spot. >>>T_O_B Quote Link to comment
topekahusker
What an absurd notion, that "% of roster" has anything to do with wins or losses. Post "% of starters" and we can discuss something of significance. GAWD! Thank you for the number crunching! It was discussed on a sport talk show here that Pinket at MU has really started to build relationships with his instate HSFB coaches and now is started to keep Missouri's top recruits. strigori
There is something with the numbers. If you look at any dominant program, they always keep the best players in state every year. For the last several, we have been losing kids to Iowa, KU, KSU, MU. Quote Link to comment
Hunter94
callahan had a great recriuting class this year we were ready to turn the corner but no one wanted to wait one more year we will pay a price for him getting fired AND we have paid the price for poor player development (for 4 long years) and a HC who only talked/coached up the offense and let the D go straight to hell. if you can't coach/develop kids, all the good players in the world won't win you many games. we were witness to that......one more year of piss poor play calling and an abysmal defense, no thanks. i think Pearlman finally woke up to that and he doesn't know much about football, but like most others, he saw no hope for the future with cally at the wheel.
