hack
this is the greatest video EVAH. thanks! with special guest star: CLETUS PILLEN, father of huskerboard's own DAVID PILLEN. man, you watch a production like this and then compare it to what you seen on saturdays now... it's amazing how far television has come since then. hack
no graphics. no snappy transitions or wipes. the want to show a picture, they turn a camera to a board and look at the flippin' picture. don't know what down it is or how far to the next set of downs? too bad, no graphics so you HAVE to pay attention. man, this stuff is way cool. cool like wide ties and shag carpeting. LouisianaHusker
The thing that really gets me is seeing how the playing style of football has evolved since that game. Quote Link to comment

With all the retro stuff making a comeback, I wonder if those things will someday too..??? Oh come on! Who here doesn't still have a wide tie? and a narrow black leather one?. Or ran their fingers through the shag carpet sample at Home Depot every time they visit? I would like to see these tear-away jerseys make a comeback, though. Notice ours are just big red shirts with numbers? no stripes or lettering or names? Quote Link to comment
HUSKER 37
Those opening graphics.. Same person draw the "Fractured Fairy Tales" on Bullwinkel? kewlness! Quote Link to comment

After watching that, it reminds me of Rocky (Callahan) and Bullwinkle (Cosgrove). Cosgrove: Hey Bill watch me stop this team with my defense. Bill: Again? That scheme never works. Cosgrove: This time for sure. Announcer: Touchdown (insert team here)! Cosgrove: Guess I don't know my own strength. Bill: Now here's something they'll really like. Quote Link to comment

And great find on the video. I wonder how they decide which games to put on their site? There's quite a few from the early '80's I've been looking for. And I forgot how tall Rick Berns was (6'3" I-Back) or how good Curtis Craig was..sorta overshadowed by his younger brother Roger later on. I was just thinking the other day how much better it would be to have conference all star teams play each other after the bowls rather than having East West shrine bowls..I didn't know they already did that...Before my Sr. year at HHS..1979 Pac-10 vs, Big-8 Quote Link to comment
