OLDMAN
I believe he'll only be here this year before he gets his own team. Quote Link to comment
zoogs
I would not be surprised. But I hope he stays. He's a really good one. Quote Link to comment
HuskerTrucker
I think if he does well this year, and there is no reason to think he won't, he will be supported well by the fans and the team and get Huskermania as other coaches in the past have done, and show his loyalty to Nebraska. Hunter94
one or two years at the most.........then he is gone. lots of demand for this, although by staying 2-3 years he could learn a thing or two from Bo. Quote Link to comment

Personally, I think his next coaching gig will be as a head coach somewhere. Quote Link to comment
TheKiD
Not sure.. his stock would have to go WAY up I think. I mean he did stay here when everyone else left. I think he likes NU. But, then again if his offense puts up incredible numbers over the next year or two.. it might be hard to keep him here. Guess I'm confused.. are there rumors that he wants to be a head coach? Or why has this speculation come about? Quote Link to comment
np_husker
I think it will take two seasons and then he starts getting head coach offers. Coaching staffs just don't last as long as they did under Osborne. Everyone wants to be a head coach somewhere. What about Carl Pelini? Think he would take a head job if offered? AZ4NE1
Carl? (see Mike Stoops) . Not to get ahead of ourselves (Cause that's what we do). But who would you see replacing Watson in a couple years at OC? Ozzy? Want to get more hands on with the Football team w/o all the scrutiny? Quote Link to comment
junior4949
My guess on who would replace him would be Barney Cotton. Quote Link to comment
OLDMAN
My guess on who would replace him would be Barney Cotton. Gee I hope not. Loyalty is one thing but we need someone more innovative. Quote Link to comment
admo
Y'all are talking about who's gonna or would replace Watson? I dont get it. Reminder: The season hasnt even started yet. This will be his first year calling plays since his Colo days. Quote Link to comment
TheKiD
Still confused. Is this just people getting way ahead of themselves? People really aren't predicting NU to have a top 5 offense this year or something are there? So.. is this just people saying "NU's going to be so great right away that we're going to lose all our coaches to other schools"? Someone explain it to me! Quote Link to comment
skersfan
I would just like to see us win a game, before all of these coaches are considered hot prospects. We may be as big a flop as last year, who knows until you play the games. There is no one going anywhere for the next 6 months, why worry about it or even consider it. Waste of bandwidth as far as I am concerned. Quote Link to comment
zoogs
There was speculation on Watson taking the Alabama OC job, remember? For some members of the staff (i.e, Barney, Ron Brown), I can't see them leaving. But you have to wonder if Watson is ready to bolt at the first opportunity. I hope not. I hope he develops a loyalty to this program and stays for a good many years...but we'll see. Quote Link to comment
