nhuskers5
Who in your opinion was the biggest suprise of 2008? In my mind it was Ganz, Swift, or Suh. Those guys played out of there heads. Quote Link to comment
BigRedfxtoy
After thinking about this.... Ganz, Suh, Swift... I thought they would have have a good year. My pick has to be Helu and unbelievably Lucky. Lucky played dam hard this year. Much harder than his prior years added together. Also I have to say Wortman was a very nice suprise! TaraTony
Biggest surprise....Henery. That kid was clutch all year! Biggest dissapointment....Kunalic. What happened to kicking the ball through the end zone after the first 3 games? Quote Link to comment

He did finish 6th in tackles for the team. Here are the stats of the top 10 tacklers on the team going into the bowl. |--------Tackles--------| |-Sacks-| |---Pass Def---| |-Fumbles-| Blkd DEFENSIVE LEADERS GP-GS Solo Ast Total TFL/Yds No-Yds Int-Yds BrUp QBH Rcv-Yds FF Kick Saf ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 93 Suh, Ndamukong 12-12 33 35 68 15-61 5.5-48 2-79 3 6 . 1 1 . 4 Asante, Larry 12-11 44 20 64 2-4 1.0-4 1-0 4 1 . . . . 34 Glenn, Cody 9-9 26 25 51 6-20 . . 4 4 . 1 . . 95 Allen, Pierre 12-10 20 30 50 9-36 4.0-26 . 1 2 . 1 . . 33 O'Hanlon, Matt 11-9 28 18 46 2-5 . 1-21 4 1 . . . . 98 Potter, Zach 12-12 13 30 43 14-50 5.5-44 2-11 6 6 . 1 3 . 43 Steinkuhler, Ty 12-12 17 25 42 6-18 1.5-13 . . 3 . . . . 52 Dillard, P. 8-5 13 25 38 2-9 0.5-6 . 1 1 . . . . 6 Murillo, A. 12-11 29 9 38 2-1 . 1-57 9 1 1-11 . . . 28 Hagg, Eric 12-10 27 9 36 3-10 . . 6 2 1-3 1 . . Potter had a really good year, as the entire D-line did. Quote Link to comment
zoogs
Potter and Murillo definitely would qualify as surprises, not disappointments. Quote Link to comment
illnino
I'd have to say the defensive line. Other than Suh, I didn't have high expectations for this group. I'm glad I was wrong. And what about Hagg? The no-name linebackers? Too many to list IMO. Quote Link to comment
redout22
To me the biggest surprise was Cody Glenn. Before he got suspended he was the most consistant player on the defense Quote Link to comment

Yes, they certainly did, but they were team leaders going into the season, so, I didn't find it much of a surprise that they stepped up the way they did - it would have been surprising if they hadn't. I'd have to agree with Henery as being a pleasant surprise, I mean seriously, who goes into a season wondering, 'how do we look at place kicker this year?'. I'd also add McNeil soph. TE to the list. BigWillie
Biggest Surprise - Roy Helu C'mon, who expected him to blow past Lucky and Castille both? I would put Suh in there, but we all knew he had the potential to wreck havoc. We just finally got to see him put it all together. Quote Link to comment

You replied agreeing to a post saying that Kunalic was a disappointment and in your reply you end by saying that you want to include Potter and Murillo in that sentiment. Quote Link to comment

HuskerNMO
Gonna throw a vote in there for McNeil, didn't expect anything out of him or the TE's this year. And he had a pretty good year Quote Link to comment
