Former Husker Travis Gingery arrested

Recommended Posts

Police say a fingerprint left behind at a crime scene led to the arrest of a Lincoln burglary suspect.

Officer Katie Flood said 24 year old Travis Gingery was arrested April 30th for burglary. Flood said the victim came home in the 3000 block of Pointe Circle on the 22nd to find jewelry and a camera had been stolen.

Investigators were able to lift a fingerprint from a photo box that was on top of a jewelry box in the home. That print matched one in the state's database for Gingery who was previously booked for a crime in Omaha.

Flood said several of the items of jewelry were also pawned at local stores and those contacts also identified Gingery.

After being arrested for burglary, Flood said officers found a computer stolen from Lincoln East in Gingery's home and the investigation has led officers to believe he committed 5-10 thefts at the school. Police have several reports of cash taken from lockers at East where Gingery's father, John Gingery is the head football and track coach.

Police believe in one case Gingery used his father's keys to steal from another coach's locker. Flood said he has been cited for theft in those cases.

A walkon, who played defence during the CallyCoz era. Did he ever step on the field? Someone is looking pretty deep in the dumpster to find and report this. Its a non-story.
