I think it is time for Joey to move on with his life and come to the realization that he isn’t going to play in the NFL. Maybe it is just me but I have grown tired of reading the same article over and over again about him being slighted and so on. Not all decent College Quarterbacks are cut out for the NFL. It is just the way it works.

 

Also on a side note, since the rumors were flying around linking him to that internet porn girl could that come back to bite him when he goes for that GA job in 2010? I hope it doesn’t because I think he would make one heck of a good coach in the future.

Agreed. Football at a higher level just isn't in the cards for Joe. He'll make a heck of a coach, and there are worse things in the world.

 

And no matter what, he'll have some amazing games to point to and tell his grandkids, "I did that. I was the QB for one of the top programs in the country, and I competed well." That's pretty cool.

Seriously though, I don't think it would hurt him much. She's not doing anything illegal (as long as she stays out of Marz). Maybe they'll treat him differently if he's on the staff than they would as a player, but there was that Playboy girl that was posted in the other thread who dated... someone on the team. That's maybe evidence that such an association wouldn't hurt him.

Ganz does not fit the mold for what NFL teams are looking for. I was watching a show the other day that brought up this point. It had nothing to do with Ganz, but they were talking about Vince Young. Basically, they were discussing how no QB like Young (a running QB) had ever won the Superbowl. If you look at the QB's that have won the Superbowl in the past several years (Big Ben, Manning brothers, Brady), they have a few common denominators. They are all fairly tall. With Eli and Brady being 6'4 and Big Ben and Peyton being 6'5. For the most part, all 4 are standing oak trees back there. None of them are going to be much of a take off and run threat. This is why it might be difficult for Michael Vick to get picked up because he just doesn't fit the mold either. Neither does Ganz.

Yeah Joe will most likely not play in the NFL but if he did I thought of him like a Jeff Garcia kind of quarterback, just how he plays and stuff reminds me of that. Too bad he wont get a shot though...

I think I know which porn star you are referring to (see picture above), but I'd hope we've evolved beyond throwing stones at "sinners"...And I thought I'd heard Garcia was gay...not that there's anything wrong wit...but...even I haven't evolved to where I'd prefer a gay coach to one that likes porn worthy women.

I don’t think anyone said that the coaches had to take a vow of celibacy or were throwing stones. That being said when T.O. is the person that is responsible for the Athletic Department I think rumors of one of the GA/Coaches being linked to an internet porn girl probably wouldn’t sit well with him. Maybe I’m thinking too much into this but who knows. I just hope decisions being made now don’t hurt his future because I think he has a bright future as a coach. It’s like I tell the college kids I work with at my PT job. What you do today may come back to bite you in the backside later on. Background checks for employment are getting more in depth and people are not getting jobs because of what is found.

Sadly, I agree with you. However, it isn't in Ganz's personality to just quit as soon as he gets a "no". That is probably why so many players, coaches, and fans liked him the one and a fourth seasons he started.

I have to say that from reading your posts through the years that this post surprised me. You seem to be a poster that sees this program and TO for everything good and bad versus those who only see the good. Then, you hit us with this post. TO is the AD meaning he is in charge of the athletic department. When he was the head football coach, he was in charge of the football team. If memory serves me correctly, he let a player return to the field after he drug a woman down stair. He also let a player(s) play that had charges of sexual assault against them. Why wouldn't he allow a GA or coach date or be linked to an internet porn girl? Isn't there quite a leap between prostitution and internet porn girl? Maybe it's just me, but I'm thinking people are having too much of an issue with who people are dating or linked to. Isn't there such a thing as sexual discrimination? You can not discriminate against someone for being gay. How can you discriminate against someone because they date someone involved in the legal porn industry?
