The hubris of the defeated

I was just kicking back and watching the fireworks on some buff boards. Thought I'd share some of the encouraging ditties.

"We have a handful of players who would play at TX or OK but many who

are a closer fit with the lower echelon teams like Nebraska, Baylor

and Iowa State."

"I just have a gut feeling that there's no way UNL comes into Boulder in late

November and beats CU. Even if we've only won 3 games by then. Among

other teams, including from the North, I also expect VaTech to give

Bo's peops a taste of reality long before then."

Do they even watch football in Colorado? Do they have even the remotest concept of how this game works? Holy hell this is Delusion with a capital D.

If we lived in that thin of air 365 days a year, we'd be saying the same sh*t too.

I had to check out the Boulder Camera for some buff reactions. I would say there are a few upset fans out there. And to think they are already getting ready for the Huskers!! We'll see how the buffs travel in 5 days for Friday nights game at Toledo. A probable struggle that could go either way. It's getting warmer in Boulder!!!

I'm taking Toledo by 14.

Wouldn't be a surprise at all.

Maybe that's why Hawkins might be on the hot seat - there are 10 games between now and then.

More immediate future: Five days is not much time to address the issues, and for a road game. The scheduling of all these non-Saturday games might come back to haunt them because of the total disruption of timing. Or, being on tv so much might fund the "Fire Hawkins" account that was set up last night.

-- Paul Johnson, Navy HC: Seems to have the Middies rolling along.

They almost beat Ohio State over the weekend. Maybe a return to a

ground-based attack a smart move?

-- Turner Gill, Buffalo HC: Yeah, I said it. Doubt he would go against

Big Red like that, but if they really went with Pelini over him

because of skin color, then what better way to get revenge than by

leading their arch-rival?

just one guys thoughts on who should take over....

Funny, I don't see CU as our arch-rival. I think there should be some measure of respect for rivals, and I have absolutely none for CU (especially their fans). Protip: Having fans that are worthless pieces of sh#t doesn't make you someone's rival.

I love it when people assume things with absolutely no proof.

Paul Johnson left Navy in 2007 and is in his second season as head coach at Georgia Tech. Doubt he's going to leave to coach in Boulder any time soon unless they throw gobs of money at him.

I remember that one. Just when I thought they couldn't possibly sink any lower, behave with any less class, or shuffle about their pathetic existence as a program with any more vitriol, you read a comment like the one they made about Turner. Nebraska will always love Turner even if he isn't our coach. The defense was the issue when Bo was hired. It was one of the hardest decisions of Tom's life not to give him the job. Any program would be privileged to have him, and we will support him no matter where he ends up.

A program like Colorado wouldn't deserve a Turner Gill.

they'd need something like 2.5 mill a year to get him there.
