hoyamannn
Spain could be huge next year!! Spain, if I remember right, was the most impressive receiver last year in the passing leagues. Could be a huge help to the receiving corp we have coming back. Quote Link to comment
HuskerInKC16
This is from a post on HuskersIllustrated about today's press conference. Notes from Callahan's Press Conference Reply -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Dyckes has left the team and will follow Scott Downing to Northern Colorado. - Kurt Mann had shoulder surgery and will miss Spring Ball. He should be fine for Fall. - Matt Herian had two screws removed from his leg and will attempt to practice in the Spring, although two years of doing nothing on the leg will definitly take some time to recover and it's up in the air how effective he'll be. - Ashlee Palmer is NOT on campus and will NOT be practicing with the team this Spring as was originally planned. He has academic issues similar to Spain last year. It's not a problem with his GPA, but more his core classes(i.e. min. number of math classes, english classes, etc.) Hopefully he'll get it settled and have no problems come the fall Quote Link to comment
HSKRNOKC
We have some good receivers and some depth.(If Purify makes it to Lincoln). Should be a very fun offense to watch next year. Havent heard anything on C. Brooks. He was very highly touted yet I dont recall seeing him last season. Does anyone have any info on him. Quote Link to comment
NU fan in Denver
Not a good sign. Hopefully his problems aren't as significant as Spains and that he will in Lincoln for fall practice. I really wish he would have been in Lincoln for spring ball. Those juco's that get that first semester of spring ball contribute much more than the other juco's. Quote Link to comment

He played in the Maine game at receiver. I am not sure if he played much during the rest of the season, maybe a little special teams. Quote Link to comment
Hunter94
sounded like Brooks had a "practice and effort problem" last season...hopefully he is over it....... hunter Quote Link to comment
DJR313
On another note, Coach Callahan said Tyrell Spain and Victory Haines were in, so Spain will be suiting up for Spring practice That is excellent news! Spain, Purify, Holt and possibly Henry to add to the stable of receivers already there. Looking good for next season in that department. Bummer that Ashlee Palmer is going to miss spring ball though. Hopefully he gets everything squared away and is ready to step in in August. Quote Link to comment
NUbeliever
Sean Callahan has just reported, FWIW, that Palmer has an outside chance to still be here for the spring semester. He is supposedly taking a test (a final exam) in a class that is not scheduled for completion until next month. I guess there is a rule at the college that allows him to try to pass the final without completing the course. IF, IF, IF, IF he passes, and IF, IF, IF, IF the paperwork is done over the weekend and IF, IF , IF, IF it is recieved by the NCAA claearinghouse and the University itself, THEN he COULD still be here. But we all know that if if and butts were candies and nuts we'd all have a wonderful Christmas. Quote Link to comment

BIGREDFAN_in_OMAHA
I hope Palmer gets his school work squared away. Maybe this will give Greg Davis the push he needs to commit. Quote Link to comment

rawhide
At the JUCO level there are good and bad profs/counselors etc. Many have a AA or BA degree not like the D1 level where an MA is entry level. Not to say anyone less than a MA/MS is a maroon. I resemble that no MS for me yet Quote Link to comment
