knapplc
That carries about as much weight as our collective predictions though, right? Quote Link to comment
Nexus
Yeah, not really surprising either way. Bottom line is we have to show up every week to earn our keep. Ratings is nice and all, but actually winning games is another thing altogether. Quote Link to comment
Minnesota_husker
Doesnt mean much other then we dont have to climb as much. If we win our first 5 games(should be 5-0) and they win their first 5(Texas Tech and Oklahoma might be tough) but if we are both 5-0, we are talking 2 top 5 teams maybe. Gameday!?!?!?! mmmtodd
...and in other news, the Saber Toothed Tiger has been confirmed to be extinct. I think if youre a Boise State type team, they do carry some weight unfortunately. A big time BCS school, it doesnt matter. We win our games, we'll be in the spot at the end of the year we need to be. Quote Link to comment
EbylHusker
It matters if you're comparing schools with similar records. Like if more than two BCS teams go undefeated or none are undefeated but several have 1 loss. Quote Link to comment

TheCheshireCat
Might not be accurate or meaningful at all, but it looks better to have us at #9 than out of the top 25. Especially when recruits see that we're projected that high. Might not help much, but it can't hurt. Quote Link to comment
EbylHusker
There is definitely "something" about the top 10 in people's minds, since we place such high importance on multiples of 10. Quote Link to comment
Touchdown Tommie
Lets not forget that Ole Miss was ranked in the top 5 or ten at the beginning of this year.....i i nice to possibly be getting some respect again. Quote Link to comment

HSKRNOKC
Biggest thing to me about being that hi early is we could lose one and still climb back up. Quote Link to comment
Vince from ShamWOW
I heard this same segment on USC. They were interviewing a reporter from ESPN. He said ESPN will have NU ranked number 9 in their 2010 Pre-Season rankings. I realize it doesn't mean much - however this is the offseason and there's not much to discuss. Quote Link to comment

I am more talking about if both teams will be 5-0 entering the game. Quote Link to comment
cscott2win
It's just nice getting some recognition even if the first game is 7 1/2 months away!! Quote Link to comment
