JTrain
Is there any indication this poll actually affects the cover? Quote Link to comment

JTrain
I hope people aren't expecting Crick to actually be on the cover. As far as I can tell, this is just a fan poll because they needed to fill space on their site, and polls are trendy. Unless they did the same thing last year and actually put the winners on the cover (Tebow, McCoy and Damian Williams made the national cover), I'm going to assume the poll has no say on what the actual cover will be. Although I'd love to see Crick make the cover, including a defensive tackle with relatively little national exposure isn't the best idea to help your sales. EDIT: From Phil Steele's Facebook: Up on PhilSteele.com right now is a poll to pick who goes on the cover of the National version of my magazine. I usually pick the best players from the teams that will compete for the national title and I have included some other top players. Please get in and vote today and help me decide. Thanks in advance for voting! So he doesn't really make it clear. I wonder if he'll pick two top players and let the third player be the poll winner? So possibly a cover with something like Ingram, Pryor and Crick. Quote Link to comment
JTrain
Well, here's this. Not sure if it clears anything up or not... I web vote for the National Cover is going to be between a 1/3 & a 1/2 of the final decision. We also look at players from schools that we think may go to the National Championship. Finally we look for players that are recognized across the country. This is the first year of the poll so we’re happy to get the fans involved and we’re excited with the feed back. Sincerely, Rolf Bertulies General Manager Phil Steele Publications Quote Link to comment
knapplc
JTrain, the larger point is that we dominate online polls. Whether they choose to honor Crick based on our vote is really beside the point. Quote Link to comment
husker rob
that poll is over and there is a whole new one up Quote Link to comment
jsneb83
that poll is over and there is a whole new one up Yeah now it is who is the top returning QB. Where's Lee? Quote Link to comment

Sure but it's better when the winner actually gets something (like Suh's Heisman vote). Quote Link to comment
