I love "Farmageddon." It'll never be a trophy name but it could catch on in the media, especially when both teams are contenders. Get ready for a boring drive to Iowa City. Nothing like the drive to Boulder though, I suppose..

Blitz has it right, sorry but u can't force rivalries, that's what the big 12 did with cu on us and it was an absolute joke.

Maybe ur farmagedon trophy can happen some time, but as of right now we just need our rivalries to form themselves

I am a little worried about the bolded part....that is kind of creepy sounding.

Hey kids, want a lollipop. Look at my gold pants charm. Isn't it nice?

All of these trophies have a rich history. We can't just create one for a created rivalry-- it would lessen the meaning of a rivalry and a trophy.

Some of the Big 10 trophy rivaliries are manufactured (see Wikipedia), some are based on historical incidents. The 1999 NU-IU game is the kind of incident that could be the foundation for a rivalry trophy called "The Naked Boot Trophy"

History of "The Naked Boot" Trophy:

In 1999, Leading 35 - 0 with 5 minutes remaining, Nebraska quarterback Eric Crouch runs a naked bootleg and decimates the only Iowa defender between him and the end zone. Iowa fans go ballistic over NU running up the score. NU joins the Big Ten in 2011 and Iowa proposes "The Naked Boot" trophy in their inaugural meeting. The Huskers accept and a trophy is designed with likenesses of Eric Crouch and Mikkel Brown at the moment of impact. The annual rivalry has persisted for over a thousand years....

The Minnesota v Penn State "rivalry" was manufactured. The Gophs were the first matchup for PSU when they joined the conference and the teams made a trophy game out of it, most MN fans (and probably PSU fans) couldn't care less about this one. On the other hand the other three trophy games Minnesota has are strictly organic and are all awesome and long standing trophy games.

Farmageddon is what Kansas State and Iowa State called their game in Arrowhead. I'm gonna say we want to distance ourselves as far away from that disaster as possible.

For the fans of the past, the game that was not played was against Michicken when we split the National Tital. We Husker Fans are sure we would have won that game. I am sure they feel the same way. Maybe that will ignite a small bit of tension that leads to a more interesting game. They are ahead of us in total wins I believe, maybe I am wrong. But I think that is a possible game that could prove to be a rivalry game. Also wait till we have filled the large stadiums of the big 10 with RED and they will all hate us.

I am excited about this move and we will bring a brand of football they will enjoy and learn to despise.

2010 Big 12 Champs,

2011,Big 10 Champs,

Lets get this party started
