Redman
It was good to see Murtha healthy. He had a good game. I almost thought he may become a Ryan Schuller and never really get fully healthy. Has Craig Roark seen any time? I haven't noticed. Quote Link to comment
DJR313
It was in another thread I started about the Wagner article, Wags said Roark is going to redshirt and is going to be moved to center. I wouldn't be surprised to see Murtha start against ISU. I think there will be some changes in the next 2 weeks. Quote Link to comment
Foppa
I wouldn't be surprised to see Murtha start against ISU. I think there will be some changes in the next 2 weeks. I hope you're right...I mean, it isn't like we can really go backwards on offense. Oh wait, we COULD, and wipe out our all-important 1 TD, but that should hardly be enough in two weeks. gamecocks
I think Murtha should start over Thomas. Quote Link to comment
Redman
I think Murtha should start over Thomas. I agree. He is quicker and holds his blocks better. Quote Link to comment
StuckinChicago
Wooo! that is I told you so number two for the week. Murtha is much quicker and much better at blocking in space than Thomas, and only his knowledge of the plays kept him from starting. He will crack the starting spot in the next couple of games if not against ISU. Quote Link to comment

indianahusker
He is one big Murtha... Quote Link to comment
StuckinChicago
Actually that is the funny thing about Lydon. Hes pretty small for his height for an o lineman, and he has been under his suggested weight by the coaching staff since he got here, which may be part of the reason it has taken him so long to see the field. He is always talking about how the coaches just want him to lose his six pack, and how hes not going to do it. He is one cut dude. To goofy to take seriously though. Quote Link to comment
kramer
I sure hope he can stay healthy...Thomas losted 40 pounds this offseason and is still fat and overweight. He sucks....Murtha and Slauson will be a great combo. Â Â Murtha ..stop riding the moped. Quote Link to comment
formerfan
He is always talking about how the coaches just want him to lose his six pack, Quite frankly, that might be the stupiest thing I have ever heard. Quote Link to comment
Touchdown Tommie
As I have said in other threads, Murtha is very good. I watched him here in Minnesota dominate and when he backed out of the U of M, I was excited to see he chose NU. He will be an excellent addition for this sad line. Might as well get him in there now and see what he can do with consistent playing time. Quote Link to comment
NamelessHusker
I have no problem with Murtha starting over C. Thomas. Anyone who has read my comments about thomas knows I have been bitching about his play since the first quarter against Maine. Thomas in the lineup kills the offense. Him and Phillips both do. I wish the coaches hadn't switched Tomerline to DE and had kept him as TE so that Phillips can be benched. I will be happy when Phillips gets benched because he is 1 of 3 problems on the offense. One was C Thomas, the other Phillips, and the third being Seppo. Both C Thomas and Seppo have been grading out between between 50-60% according to someone from Huskerpedia who attended a Big Red Breakfest hosting Dennis Wagner. Dennis Wagner explained that anything above 90% grading is consisdered going above and beyond your job as an offensive lineman. Anything less then 80% means you are doing your job and nothing else, while anything less then 75% means you are missing blocks and don't know your assignments. Quote Link to comment
NamelessHusker
Look for some possible changes in the offensive line when the new depth chart comes out. There's a possibility Murtha is the starter over C Thomas and Matt Slauson could also see some significant playing time over Seppo. Quote Link to comment
