knapplc
Since Taariq Allen was his player and he's a WR, and we're losing a WR coach, you'd think he would come in as our WR coach. Quote Link to comment
ADS
If true, not to happy with this move. Whos knows, maybe it will be a great hire. But for now, I will hold back my optimisim. Quote Link to comment
knapplc
Sounds like Richard Fisher might be coming in some capacity. Who knows if it is for the RB postition, or as a GA?? Link Being reported on Unsportsmanlike Conduct. If so, this is quite the underwhelming movement and new additions to the staff. Hopefully Bo is that much smarter than everyone else. This is going to earn reminders of Nutt hiring Malzahn with Mustain in tow. The press will run with that story roughly five seconds after it's officially announced. Quote Link to comment
yogurt the wise
Better be a great coach because I don't see him being much of a recruiter. Quote Link to comment

This is an odd development, and overall we have made very underwhelming (reported) hires. Having said that, just be cause these (reported) hires lack sizzle, doesn't mean that they can't coach. Heres to hoping we've hit some homeruns with the new hires Quote Link to comment
B.B. Hemingway
Better be a great coach because I don't see him being much of a recruiter. If he is a well-respected coach in the Northeast, then maybe that can be a help in our quest to recruit the Northeast/East Coast more in the future. Quote Link to comment
ADS
He might actually be a decent recruiter, when you hvae had players recruited by major colleges such as Fisher you learn what kids want to hear and kids gravitate towards. Malzahn has become one of the best recruiters on Auburns staff. Quote Link to comment
knapplc
By the way, proof that other organizations read HuskerBoard abounds right now. Not naming names, but as this story propagates it's pretty easy to see that the news broke here first, then other places later. Just an interesting thing to note. Quote Link to comment

yogurt the wise
Big difference between recruiting in the S E C and here at Nebraska. Northeast is not exactly a hot bed of recruiting. Quote Link to comment

Nebraska holds their own in the recruiting world, had we not lost Tevin Mitchell, the Bryant kid, this might have been a top 10 class... Based on Average stars (which is how classes should be evaluated anyways) I think we are somewhere around 7th or 8th. I agree about the Northeast not being a hot bed for recruiting, but I have heard alot of people say that we will have a agressive interest in that part of the country. Seems overrated since we've always been a school that recruits nationally. Quote Link to comment

I never considered a bad hire either, I agree the timing was a little and the whole situation was a little weird. Quote Link to comment

Like New Jeresey and Pennsylvania? If we wanted the Jersey ins, I think we should have gone with Colman. Promising coach, Jersey ties, good recruiter. Ah, well.... Quote Link to comment
knapplc
Does Bo have a connection to Colman? He does with Fisher.... Quote Link to comment
