For my Husker Brothers...You who are now or have been military and our law enforcement brothers...

Recommended Posts

I will soon be off for our visit to past family members grave sites but I wanted to leave a message behind...

For our VETERANS and those who now serve...

for those of you who are now LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS (BRI, HUSKER JOCK, RAWHIDE, RAWHIDE JR) and all others...

My thanks to you, for your service, your courage and your sacrifice.

I will most likely preceed most of you to the promised land and when you get there our tail gate will be everything you ever wanted one to be.

I may not "know you guys" but I do love you, stay safe and well, for your duty you are blessed.

This couldn't be more true

CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Get upset if you're too busy to talk to them for a week. VETERAN FRIENDS: Are glad to see you after years, and will happily carryon the same conversation you were having the last time you met.

CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Have never seen you cry. VETERAN FRIENDS: Have cried with you.

CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Borrow your stuff for a few days then give it back. VETERAN FRIENDS: Keep your stuff so long they forget it's yours.

CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Know a few things about you. VETERAN FRIENDS: Could write a book with direct quotes from you.

CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Will leave you behind if that's what the crowd is doing. VETERAN FRIENDS: Will kick the crowds' ass that left you behind.

CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Are for a while. VETERAN FRIENDS: Are for life.

CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Have shared a few experiences... VETERAN FRIENDS: Have shared a lifetime of experiences no citizen could ever dream of...

CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Will take your drink away when they think you've had enough. VETERAN FRIENDS: Will look at you stumbling all over the place and say,'You better drink the rest of that before you spill it!!' Then carry you home safely and put you to bed...

CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Will talk crap to the person who talks crap about you. VETERAN FRIENDS: Will knock them the hell out of them for using your name in vain.

CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Will ignore this. VETERAN FRIENDS: Will forward this.

A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve -is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to and including my life.'

From one Veteran to another, it's an honor to be in your Company.

Thank you Veterans!

Stationed at RAF Wethersfield and RAF Alconbury in the 80's.

My hobby was searching out the old Air Fields and Towers in the area.

Standing by an overgrown strip and trying to imagine what it was like for them to fly those missions.

Sharing a Pint with some WWII British Vets at a local Pub and listening to their stories.

I'll be hoisting a Pint to all who served and those now serving.

I grew up sorta resenting the fact that we ever needed the Police or the Millitary...But for my Dad..For my Buddy Scott, and his Son Brandon..And for the rest of you that I may never meet...Thank you so much (And your families) for all your sacrifices.

Thanks TOB. Never been a LEO but am a vet. Jr is the LEO. I'm proud of the job he and all LEO's do and what they endure. Many times it's similar to what military units experience. Unfortunately, LEO's don't get the thanks for dealing with the ugly/seamy side of civilization and enforce laws that help make this country safer.

Hope everyone has a safe, relaxing and fun Memorial Day.

Thanks TO Bull but I shouldn't be in the same sentence as BRI, Rawhide and Rawhide Jr. They're the ones who help keep the community safe where I just book them in and babysit them lol. Thanks again TO for the kind words lol.

As for the men and women who has served this country I love you all and thank you for allowing me to do the things I love to do.

Which members are in the military and law enforcement? I know BRI, Rawhide, and Rawhide Jr. but isn't there a huskerboard member stationed in Iraq right now?
