Fall camp: Five things to watch

By Sam McKewon WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER

1. Best 22

When he took the job in 2008, Bo Pelini espoused a desire to create a two-deep full of starters, a “Best 22” of interchangeable parts that could, based on personnel, attack an offense from any direction. I hadn't heard anyone put it quite like that, and he's close — very close — to having just that. He might be a little short at corner and one linebacker spot. But for sheer talent, one could argue NU hasn't been this loaded since the final Charlie McBride defenses. Reporters won't be able to see a lot of the creativity that some suspect Bo and Carl are planning for this year, but the defense could evolve to the next strategic step.

We finally got football! Well, football practice anyway.

That's odd. Here's the link if you want to cut-and-paste it in your browser. "http://www.omaha.com/article/20110804/BIGRED/708049767#fall-camp-five-things-to-watch". Or you could actually go buy a newpaper. I'm told they used to do that in the olden days. :)
