B1G Power Rankings

No they don't. More respect than, say, Oregon St. who also has a history of sticking it to better teams?

Michigan St. and Wisconsin won like they should, we did not. We are ranked in the top 10 and no matter what reputation Fresno St. has, we should have rolled them easily if we deserve that ranking. And we didn't. We've shown absolutely nothing to instill much faith in anyone at this point beyond Husker fans that only see through rose-tinted glasses. Wisconsin and Michigan St., on the other hand, have won convincingly as was expected of them.

Edit - Bottom line is that you clearly don't like criticisms against Nebraska, even when they're fair and valid. Fair enough, but don't expect to post things like that and expect all of us to sit here and give you a grin and a thumbs up.

Yeah, Oregon State really has a reputation of sticking it to better teams. They withheld that reputation by losing to Sacramento St. LOL

and fau got equally embarrassed the week before by florida. like i said before, the way he pumps up the traditional B1G schools, and has no faith in NU. he needs more perspective with NU.

The only perspective one needs on NU right now is to watch the games and see the sh#t play for 6-7 quarters. Your belief that they should just magically have faith in us after how we've looked is a joke.

People who compile rankings always have extremely short memories.

We looked like crap in week 2, Michigan State looked like crap in week 1. Since we looked bad more recently, we drop in the power rankings and MSU moves up.

None of it matters anyways. All we have to do is win, one game at a time.

that's the best point. still ruffles my feathers. not that nu deserves preferential treatment, but he sees the best about wiscy, msu, osu (all with glaring flaws in their season: msu looked bad in wk 1 and embarrassed an embarrassing team, wiscy hasn't played anyone and it's easy to get hyped for a thursday night game (see us v. ksu last year) and osu barely beat toledo(which "looks like a solid team and coach Tim Beckman had an excellent plan...", not worth mentioning fresno's incredible coach and impeccable game plan), and the worse in nu.

Actually, EbylHusker, Fresno State has a history of 'sticking it' to Top 25 teams--most notably, Big XII champion Colorado *and* a #1 ranked Oregon State on OSU's home turf, both in the same year.

If Carr holds out and that O-Line improves (both likely), Fresno State would be contending for a Pac-12 title, were they in the conference, and likely in the upper half of all BCS conferences, save for the SEC.

Then again, this may be more of an indictment on BCS conferences and Pac-12 football than a statement on how good Fresno State has been, historically.

And...so does Oregon St. So your point is...?

does osu? they've had their moments, but it's not their mo, like fresno's.

Go look at the past 5 years or so if you don't believe me. The stats are available. The highlight, of course, is taking down #1 USC in 2008, but there have been plenty of other big wins or close games.

REALLY? Even if they do have a reputation of taking down big teams it will not be this year, not after losing to SACRAMENTO STATE. How are you missing that?

That's more on USC than anything else. USC under Carroll could almost be counted on for one blown game every year.

They were #1 in 2007 when they lost at home to a Stanford team that finished 4-8.

They were #2 in 2006 when they lost to a UCLA team that finished 7-6.

They were #3 in 2008 when they lost to a Washington team that finished 5-7.

Saying Oregon State is known as a giant-killer for beating USC is incorrect. The Beavers do not have the same reputation as giant-killers as Fresno, not by a long shot.

Didn't Michigan go on to win 10 games the year they lost to a team similar to Sacramento State? Virginia Tech went onto have a pretty decent last year after they lost to a team on par with Sacramento State.
