Context? Which occupy movement? Who is this person? Are they affiliated with the movement?

Do you care? Or are you just seeing what you want to see?

and he's doing it on a flag..not leaving it for others to clean up. It's obvious he's making a statement and not just dumping to dump...and it's not a common thing for these people to just take dumps on public property. That said...go ahead and arrest him if he's breaking a law.

LOL! I never thought I would see the day of conspiracy theorists explaining why a guy is taking a dump on the sidewalk! We need to Mulder and Scully on this ASAP. Please keep defending the occupoopers, this is entertainment at its finest.

Where was the conspiracy?

Start with the post following the first occupooper link.

Did you critique the tea party in the same manner? How about the spitting incident and the name calling of congressmen? Did you ask the same questions? Those are some good questions that could be asked about any incident, did you take the time to do that with the tea party incident or just convict them in your mind? :hmmph

Did you? All I see is a bunch of people on the jock of the Occupy movement, spewing derp from Fox News and failing to even remotely try to see the point of "the other side."

All this partisan bickering is foolish and contributes to the mess we're in today. Open your eyes to the disaster you're helping perpetuate. Stop supporting these parties and stop watching these right- and left-wing news outlets.

I don't care if you're a pot or a kettle in this. You're all ruining my country.

Convicted is a strong word. I scoff at the movement as a result of their factual and historical inaccuracy plus my own experiences with local Tea Parties and their members. Half of my family was involved. Let's just say that I had an up close and personal view.

I've yet to meet a Tea Partier who can distinguish between socialism, Marxism, communism, fascism, and Nazi-ism. To them . . . those are all the same thing and they describe Obama. THAT is the sort of thing I am talking about.

Bingo again. We don't always agree knapplc, but you are batting 1.000 in the Politics and Religion forum recently.

I am not ruining your country, I am saving mine. I was in agreement that they had a point about wallst. and that they have the Constitutional right to protest. But the mess they made and the images of their protest turned many Americans who may have agreed they had a point against them.

If they had used the model of the tea party I am confident they would still be thought of as a more positive movement than they are today. You get a permit, there is a starting time and an ending time. The tea party even stayed after the events and helped in the clean up. In contrast you have OWS clashing with police, not a good strategy to get most Americans to agree with your point of view.

And the Derp commment of Fox news only shows you are part of the problem you profess to hate, ironic isn't it!!?!?! :wasted

Myopic. And sad.

And for the record, MSNBC (or whomever the left-wing jackdaw is) is full of derp, too.

And there is the problem. We have no agreed upon middle ground/reasonable news source now.

There are people who think Fox News is moderate and down the middle (or some on Freerepublic who think it is leftist.)

There are people who think MSNBC is moderate and down the middle (and probably people who think it still leans to the right.)

I think the fringe news networks and the internet are contributing greatly to the breakdown in discourse. People can (and do) choose to only read news from sources that will only tell them things that they agree with. That epistemic closure results in the sort of politics that the American public is now lashing back against.

I don't get news from any specific source. I most definitely do NOT get news from any of the three major networks, from CNN, from Fox, from MSNBC or any of the more left- or right-wing papers. I focus mostly on Reuters, the AP, and other generic print. Getting your news from a broad range of sources is a better way to ensure you're not getting brainwashed by the agenda of whatever side your preferred source leans toward. It's not perfect, but it's a far sight better than watching only one or two sources.

And frankly, I couldn't stomach watching these channels. They're all obviously spinning the news, either pro-Democrat or pro-Republican. Pro-liberal or pro-conservative. It's obvious and stupid and mind-numbing.
