spartyfan1718
Wondering what everyone feels if either one of our teams runs the table to the Big 10 title game and then loses to Wisconsin in the title game. Do you feel either one of our teams snags an at-large berth? It seems rare that the BIG would be left with only one BCS bid team. Quote Link to comment
Excel
I feel like the Pac 10, Big XII and SEC would all get at larges before us Quote Link to comment
n.e.husker
SEC and Big 12 will most likely have two teams each in the bcs this year with Bama/LSU and Oklahoma/OK state Quote Link to comment
default_28
It might be more likely to get an at large for the team that loses this weekend, then for the winner if they lose in the Conference Championship game. There are four at large spots and Boise will get one if they go undefeated. One will go to a SEC team, so that leaves two. With a likely two loss teams from the PAC12 Big XII or B1G getting the spots since the ACC and Big East have never gotten an at large team before and I doubt Houston gets high enough to get in. So if the cards fall right so that a B1G team can get in it might be better to lose earlier than later. Especially for Nebraska who would have lost to Wisconsin twice where as Michigan State would have split with them. Quote Link to comment
spartyfan1718
Yeah I agree with you guys guess we all become fans of any team playing Boise, such a joke that they get this special consideration every year with that joke of a schedule they play. I do believe they are a good football team but in a power conference are maybe a consistent 7 or 8 win team Quote Link to comment
HuskerShark
Looks right now like these teams will get BCS bids: Bama LSU Stanford (assuming they either win out or lose only one game to Oregon) Oregon (if they beat Stanford. If not, could be a stretch...) B1G champion (Wisconsin, NU, MSU?) Clemson Big East Champion (Cincinnati? WV? Who knows...) Boise State Okie State Oklahoma  Looks like we would have to win the B1G to get to a BCS bowl, given the national perception of our conference... We had a chance for Wisconsin to win out the regular season, then if NU or MSU were to have beaten them in the CCG, that would have been potential to override the Big12 for an at-large bid, or possibly Boise...  Needless to say, it's a mess right now, and the only way we can sort it out is to wait for the rest of the season. Foppa
Boise St. could lose 4 games and ESPN BCS voters would give them an at-large BCS bowl game. Quote Link to comment
spartyfan1718
Well I guess when you keep getting marquee 9 pt wins against the likes of Air Force that definitely makes you worth of such consideration 2 Quote Link to comment
husker B-rent
agreed. im of the opinion that boise this season would lose to MSU, NU, and Mich in the Legends alone this season. they are more than a little overrated imo, more like a #20 team. Quote Link to comment
VA Husker Fan
The Big 10 almost always seems to get 2 BCS bids, it seems. I doubt this year will be different, though if the Pac 10 and Big 12 both have 2 1-loss teams, it will be tough. Quote Link to comment
gin_32
Although I would hate to admit it...I think MSU would have a better shot, actually slim chance, at an AT-Large BCS Bid if thier record ends up at 11-2. However, any team that loses in the B1G championship game can probably kiss that dream good-bye. I think there is one team kind of being looked over - Penn State. Haven't really seen them played but noticed they are coming up with a tough part of shedule themselves though Quote Link to comment
strigori
I think if NU gets to 11-2 with a loss in the champ game, I think the Huskers get an invite. Remember, its bowl people who pick the teams, and I think any of them would be drooling over the Huskers with the massive fan base, they would smell a sell out. I don't know enough about MSU to say about how well the fan base travels. There is also an outside factor of how other teams do. There is still a possibility of 5 undefeated teams and a 1 loss LSU or Bama... Quote Link to comment
scarletNcream
This is a tough one. If Wiscy and NU or Sparty make it to the CCG and Wiscy loses, but the game is epic, and I mean an instant classic, I believe they can get a bid. I don't see any scenario where NU or Sparty make it based on a loss to UW. Quote Link to comment
mturn087
If its a Fiesta Bowl BCS game I would expect us to get the bid. Imagine what the BCS would do if they could get OU vs NU in the Fiesta Bowl! Other BCS games would be a toss up though. Quote Link to comment
