Sub-Husker
Man this thread is a downer.... Yer just upset that our game didn't make the list! Quote Link to comment
CheeseHusker
I'll strictly limit it to games I've attended, in which case there is only one - K-State 2003. Only because it is the only time I've ever been to a loss. Otherwise, it's been all wins for me (about 25-30). Includes a few Oklahoma and Colorado games. Quote Link to comment
RexIsMyDogg
I was in Columbia in 2007. Lived in St Louis at the time and was talking all kinds of smack to my friends. Needless to say it was all for not as we were bent over 41-6. The game was horrible not only b/c we lost, but b/c in my opinion Mizzou fans are the worst fans in football and because I had GA tickets that game which means I had to sit on those stupid rocks in their high school stadium. At halftime was bumped into and talked yelled at by a 50 yr old woman who was completely hammered (admittedly so was i) and almost got in a fight with a 13 yr old kid that was talking sh** the entire 2nd half. Finally I was like "where's your dad" and he goes "right behind you" LOL. Luckily my girlfriend was there to keep me out of trouble. Then to top it all off, on the way out of the stadium there was literally a bum selling a Mizzou shirt with their mascot pissing on poor Herbie. That sent me over the top and I went off. Then my girl and I got in a screaming match which had to look like something off Maury since I was in my Neb gear and she had on a Mizzou shirt. Worse night of my life. Only positive was that game was the start of the streak that led to Callahan getting fired. Conversely, the best game I was at was the Miracle in Mizzery in 97. Was a freshman at Truman State just down the road in Kirksville. Met my dad in Columbia and had a great time (after halftime of course). Anytime I'm having a bad day I just think back to the end of regulation when all the fans stormed the field and were then tackled and cuffed by the cops for trespassing. Priceless. Mid Coast Offense
Wasn't in attendance, but it has to be 1996 Arizona State. I was still a kid, and I didn't really understand how it was possible that Nebraska could lose a football game. I grew up a lot that day... My childhood was officially over. LOL. CheeseHusker
I watched that ASU game in a lounge at Cather Hall with about 50 other guys. I have never before nor since ever seen a room with 50 people in it be so quiet for a long period of time. It was just weird. Quote Link to comment

snell352
NU vs Miami in the Orange Bowl January 1984. I am still sick over that one. To this day anyone named Bernie or Howard are A-wipes in my book Quote Link to comment

JJ Husker
The most disappointing losses; 1984 Miami-Orange Bowl 30-31 (one of my proudest & saddest moments as a Husker fan) 1982 Penn State 24-27 (bad call cost us a NC) 1981 Clemson-Orange Bowl 15-22 (victory may have resulted in NC also feel semi guilty cuz as UNL students we crank called Danny Ford's house a few days before the game. Might've given them some fire) 1994 FSU-Orange Bowl 16-18 (would've made 3 NC's in a row) All 4 of these seasons should have been NC seasons. These were consequential losses. And for just me personally; 2009 Texass 12-13 cuz we got screwed 2010 Texass 13-20 cuz it's Texass 2001 Colorado 36-62 painfully witnessed the embarrassment in person 2010 aTm 6-9 more pissed off than disappointed cuz we were jobbed I don't list any of the record breaking embarrassing moments under Callahan because I view those years much the same way you would view a loss with replacement players when your real team is out on strike. Those games simply don't count. I've never witnessed a loss in person in Memorial Stadium. Quote Link to comment

papersun87
NU/Oklahoma for the Big 12 Championship in 2006. We were toast after the opening kickoff and it was BALLS COLD. Quote Link to comment
motorboatjonesNU
In person? 1984 Oklahoma. We get stuffed at the goal line, trying to go ahead by 10 and ice it. Next series, OU throws long down the field and they score (similar ending in '86) to win the game. Overall: 1. 1976 Oklahoma (hook and ladder play with Elvis Peacock scoring the winning TD) - first incidence of "Sooner Magic" and a childhood-ender, too. 2. 1996 ASU. Defense played well enough to win for most of the game. Frost didn't have the option down yet. 3. 1986 Colorado. WTF? 4. 1992 Orange Bowl shutout by Thug U (1991 season) ... A bowl shutout? Definitely WTF. 5. 1996 Big XII Championship. Hesitant to get into James Brown because of that game. Fixed now...Get On the Good Foot! 6. 1974 Wisconsin 7. 1982 Penn State 8. 1990 Colorado 9. 1985 Florida State 10. 1991 Citrus Bowl vs Ga Tech Quote Link to comment
Hammerhead
I know it was a Clownahan era game, but I can't help but think of '05 Texas... the only time I've even come close to going from pure elation to complete sickness that quickly was two years ago in the Big XII Championship.
