kchusker_chris
I'm not one of those guys that believes UCLA has an advantage. We here at HB even discussed in detail about how much more option we were gonna run this year! I think I saw some version on it maybe twice. If UCLA gameplanned in fall camp for the option and now look at game one film of us, I would be worried if I were them! If we continue to be even close to that efficient in the passing game, then we should dictate football games! Have fun trying to gameplan for a team that rolls up 300 yards in either facet of the offense or sometimes 300 yards in both! All signs point to another thrashing of another over matched pac12 bottom dweller! GBR! Aren't we having to gameplan this week for a team that did just that? Quote Link to comment

Who knows, Southern Miss might win 3 football games this season. It's been one game, no one knows anything about any of these teams right now...but to say a team can't gameplan for a team that put up 300 rushing/300 passing must mean we are screwed as well. I agree but we have put up alot more good games then they have. They are all hyped up about one freaking game. We have been building to this moment for 5 years, and we finally have a balanced offense. We have always been able to run, and now it seems we will be able to pass good enough to keep them on their toes and honest. That makes us a better offense then we were last year, AND we have pretty much everyone returning on that side of the ball. We have reason to be more optimistic, we are not in year one game 2 under a new coaching staff. Quote Link to comment
Chaddyboxer
I put 100 on us -6 parlay with Vanderbilt -3.5 over Northwestern to win 265 should be easy money oh and i signed up for bovada and they gave me 30$ so i played poker until i made 100 then bet it on the games so im good either way. Hey! Can you bet spreads in Iowa at one of the casinos!? I want to bet the UCLA game baaaaaaaaad. Just a simple question...wonder if anyone can answer it (don't think it is violating board rules). My point was if they had put a little Nebraska gameplan in during fall camp, they probably had more zone read/ option scouted than we ran in game one. Also I was taking issue with the point that UCLA has some sort of advantage because we have the same personnel and scheme as last year! Which we do except we are, after one game, apparently way better at it now. And we haven't seen the zone read or option hardly at all! Quote Link to comment

I've heard Ameristar was trying to employ sports betting. they don't even do it down here in the new Hollywood Casino - which makes the boats in council bluffs look like gambling skiffs. not sure why sports betting is outlawed yet the states have no issue taking back their welfare/social security checks in other forms of casino gambling. Fuzzy
I'm still sticking with UCLA only scoring 13 on the rebounding Husker defense. Though if they don't play well, UCLA very might as well score 23 points. Quote Link to comment
95huskers
I'm certainly no expert on CFB gambling but it is concerning to me that people outside of the fan base for Nebraska are picking this game so close. Is it because they know something we don't, or vice versa? 92% are betting NEB right now and typically the general public is wrong Quote Link to comment

You've got a point but I think I can safely say that USM would handle Rice with no problem. Just watching a few highlights from the UCLA v Rice game, and Rice is baaaaad! Their defense is about as slow as a D1 defense can be and their O line is like a sieve in pass pro. I'm not completely worried about UCLA's mobility at QB either, he reminds me a lot of Gabbert. Big and tall with some speed, but he takes awhile to get in to high gear. Kid does have an arm though, and the receivers have some talent. RB reminds me a lot of Rex but with out the initial burst, not quite as powerful, and maybe a tick slower, so not really like Rex at all. But he seems to be a one cut and go type of guy. Granted this is all from the few highlights I could find. Couldn't tell you much about their defense, that's always hard to judge when playing sub-par talent, but I love the fact that they play a 3-4. Don't know why I just feel like that's an ideal match up for a team like us. Quote Link to comment
