PaulCrewe
Took in the game at Seacrest with a fellow board member who is a very knowledgeable and prominentin g the recruiting forum. That would be speed. Anyhow as most of you know our I would hope, there were a couple off athletes off interest involved. First off it was a great game. We left early but enough was seen. Of course the highlight if the night was Southwest's band stellar performance of songs from the movie Rio at halftime for homecoming. Seriously I am Fan of the fine arts, seriously. First the headliner if the night, Mr. Banderas. Josh is still gimped by his ankle injury. You almost didn't notice though. He ended up with over 200 yards and 2 tds. He'd did this despite looking at 8 or 9 guys in the box. His fullback was interesting as Christian was the guy attempting to plow through the masses. He is a tough runner that usually made the first guy miss. Unfortunately he dropped a game tying td in the final 30 seconds on a wheel route in fourth down. Defensively he was all I had expected and seen before. Great at reading the play. Great at shedding blockers. Good tackler that finishes through the ball carrier. Only a few times did I notice him getting dead feet, missing the tackle, not wrapping up, or over pursuing. This kid if he keeps his head on right has ALL the potential to be special. Christian Lacouture is all man. Wow, what a specimen. He looks college ready. He posted fullback as previously mentioned. He got a couple of carrys but his primary role was to move people for Josh. On defense, he played both end and tackle. I completely swear this kid could be a star at end. He needs to add only a little bit more strength. He is very high motor and plays on special teams as will. Very much a teammate that isn't caught in his own hype. On one play he destroyed the guard across from him so much he took out both the backside guard and tackle that were tyring to pull on the play. again very strong and great speed forhis size. 2014 prospect DJ Foster. WOW. He is a big boy. Very strong. And moves VERY well. The match up that I wanted to see rarely happened. DJ and Christian rarely went up head to head. And when they did,I would say DJ won the majority of those battles. Can pull, pass block, take his man across from him and bury him in the secondary. Well worth the hype. Also played defense and made life miserable between the tackles for Banderas. Now for the lesser known guys, and there are two of them. Dion Washington for Southeast is a great back. His height and size will probably scare many bigger schools away. Scholarship worthy, probably not with NU's loaded backfield, but if he walls on here that is a huge win. Najee Jackson. Give the kid a scholly. In a year with a large number of available scholarships, this kids needs one. Label him an athlete, whatever. He is worth the small risk. Arguably was the best player in the field last night. Keeps a cool had at ask times. Makes people look silly when they try to tackle him. Plus he made i've of the best throws I have seen in a high school game. Across his body, on the run, under duress, all arm strength into a window the size of a 40 inch TV. For a score. Proved to be the game winner as well. Quarterback, receiver either. He its worth it. A winner and a leader. Come January,I will be giddy to ask hell if he has an offer. And I would defend that decision to all the moorings that say it is desperate and dumb. Again great game 3 Quote Link to comment
ADS
Foster also looked dominate lined up as a defensive tackle. Just destroyed the guard everytime the ball was snapped, and actually had some nice stops on runs up the middle by Banderas. Quote Link to comment
