Norhusker
You wanna talk about critical games and turning the corner. Well, this game is the largest one yet in disguise. The Michigan game was big. We all know this. But we've always been capable of winning those games, and we've done it on numerous occasions. This game against Michigan St. is the game we have to turn the corner and rid ourselve of the letdown issues that plague us. If we come out focused and control the game for a W, then yes, we are heading in the right direction. But if we turn it over, have miscues on D that give them points they couldnt earn on their own, and the offense is sputtery, then it will be the same old Pelini bunch and we could see this season slip away like last year's did. This game is equivilant to 2011 Northwestern. Only difference, we know how important it is this time because of what happened exactly one year ago. If you listen about what MSU says about this game, then we shoud all be worried. They are still hurting from their poor performance against us last year and their defense will be pinning their ears back. Kind of the way we felt aginst NW and MU. This will be a tough game to win. Thier losses have been close low scoring games. They will come in very motivated for revenge. If we finally stop turning over the ball and limit our penalties, then we should win. They are coming off of a tough stretch of games so I hope they are kind of worn out. Next week is their bye week so they can go all out for this one knowing they'll get a break. They finish with NW and Minn so MSU is probably thinking win this one and finish the season at a respectable 8-4 with combined 23 points in the 4 losses. Not a bad season. Hate to spoil their plans but we need the win worse then they do. Quote Link to comment

HuskerThor
MSU wont score more than 3 points on us... they have history of that... last 3 times we have played them if im not mistaken lol This got me thinking about how we historically matched up against MSU. We've only played them six times. This is what I keep referring too. We have played them six times and they have NEVER beaten us. MSU knows this, and when we get ahead they will start the "here we go again" thinking. I truly believe this has a huge impact on the game. Hate to say it, but it's kind of like Texass vs NU. GSG
What Will Happen: The Spartans will build off the momentum of last week’s big win to rise up and shut down the Nebraska offense. It’s not going to be a pretty game by any stretch in a typically low-scoring MSU way, but it’ll be a tough Big Ten slugfest. True2tRA
The best point of the main topic is the comment about "can Nebraska handle the drivers seat?". This really has some validity. We have shown time and time again the inability to "seal the deal". Right when we've had it in our hands, we've let it slip away. We beat Northwestern, the team that took everything from us last year. We beat Michigan, a team that disgraced us last year. Now we know we can beat these guys. We have our goals within reach. We can't let them get away this time. I don't think we will let this one get away. Quote Link to comment

CheeseHusker
I can see us kicking a bunch of field goals...... I like 19-10. One TD and Maher goes 4 for 4. Quote Link to comment
The Maudfather
Brian Bennett: The Spartans are at home, have that lock-down defense and should play with more confidence on offense after last week's win at Wisconsin. But ... I just remember how easily Nebraska shut down a much better Michigan State attack last year in Lincoln and how well the Blackshirts normally match up with pro-style passing teams. And even though Taylor Martinez and the Huskers won't score as much as they usually do, they will put up too many points for the Spartans. Martinez overcomes a couple of turnovers and leads a patented Nebraska comeback win. ... Nebraska 23, Michigan State 16 Brian Bennett knows his stuff. Quote Link to comment
