Good grief. The misuse of the term "ban" on this board is utterly ridiculous. You realize when youre banned, that it's permanent right. There is a difference between a ban and a suspension. Only Flu has the power to return from a "ban", over and over again. Why is this so hard to understand. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

Calm down good sir. It's just a matter of semantics. A temporary ban is still an acceptable way to define it - as the definition of ban doesn't include the modifier of having to be permanent.

For what it's worth I think we do treat bans differently from suspensions. A ban typically means someone has a consistent history of causing problems, and isn't welcome here. Time off is given more frequently as a reminder about the rules, or even just to let someone cool off. Or get sober, as it were :)
