Junior
Coincidence? I personally think the actor looks more like the Emperor from Star Wars, though that could just be the hood throwing me off.... Link to comment
carlfense
the history channel is a joke. May not apply to this program but in general I have to agree. A ton of their history stuff rates really low on the academic scale. i was speaking generally. it is all aliens and nazis. And nazi aliens. Link to comment

4skers89
Ancient Aliens: not history Vikings: screw it, we'll make up our own history! Ice Road Truckers: not history UFO Hunters: not history, nor reality Hairy Bikers: this is a show that actually exists Top Shot: apparently History doubles as SpikeTV now Big Shrimpin': spendin' Gs. Big shrimpin on BLADs Life After People: a fascinating look at entropy Ax Men: not history. burly men doing physical labor. The Bible Code predicting Armageddon: sensationalizing scripture Sex in the Ancient World: History! Raunchy, raunchy history Top Gear: BBC already made this show, but instead of sucking, the British show is one of the greatest TV shows of the last 2 decades Mounted in Alaska: I think this is porn. But credit where credit is due, there are some shows that are good and actually learn ya a bit about history! Pawn Stars and American Pickers - primarily entertainment but you can learn a lot of cool stuff (mostly trivia type stuff) Mankind the Story of All of Us How the States got their Shapes - or is it just "The States" now? I don't know. Good show though. America: the Story of Us The Presidents - cool show but IIRC they don't talk about the Presidents in any sort of chronological order. Just random stuff. WWII/Vietnam in HD - now this is history. It's sad that History channel has all of these fluff shows. I seem to remember that it used to have a lot of programs about actual history that you could learn something from. If you want to watch anything intellectually stimulating you have to switch over to PBS. I'm sure the change is all about money and ratings. They found out that these watered down shows are cheaper to produce and have higher ratings. Unfortunately it's kind of like the olympic coverage. They cover ice skating and gymnastics so much that it's unwatcheable. They did it to attract more female viewers - ratings driven. Both are losing their core audience. Link to comment
The Dude
Jesus Tap-Dancing Christ, please tell me they're not portraying the bible as actual history. That channel can eat sh#t and die. Link to comment
bhamHusker
Jesus Tap-Dancing Christ, please tell me they're not portraying the bible as actual history. That channel can eat sh#t and die. Yep. It annoys me that this mythological fantasy is on the History Channel in the same way that it annoys me that Firefly is on the Science channel. Fiction is fun and all, but it doesn't belong on channels that are ostensibly for history or science documentaries. That said, the History Channel is so far gone with crap like Ancient Aliens and reality show BS that this garbage more or less fits in now. I would be nice if they'd change their name to a more honest one like "The bullsh#t Channel." Link to comment
The Dude
the history channel is a joke. yup. Come on guys... American Pickers? Pawn Stars? Swamp People? Why would you lump Swamp People in with two shows that at least have some potential historical educational value According to my dad, Swamp People is historical because "people have been hunting alligators for hundreds of years". Pretty sure he was at least half joking. . . Link to comment
