Sorry but only one of those schools should even be mentioned as a place to "further his education". If he was really interested in his education he would have committed here.

Vanderbilt? One of the most prestigious schools in the nation?

No, that was my bad. Was on my phone and read it as "none" instead of "only one". Carry on.

Going by the US News & World Report rankings, all of these schools except for LSU are ranked higher than Nebraska. Miami has a pretty good academic reputation, despite the thuggish rep of the football team.

 

Vandy #17 among national universities

Miami #47

Bama #86

Auburn #91

Nebraska #101

LSU #135

 

Of course NU has a good rep for academic support of its athletes and obviously has more academic all-americans than any other, but we always jump when someone says that academics are important and think that NU should automatically have the obvious advantage, as if that's our strongest draw, but unless I don't pay attention to recruiting very much, it doesn't seem that academics are often one of the major factors, even though a lot of recruits mention it early on.
