Sorry but only one of those schools should even be mentioned as a place to "further his education". If he was really interested in his education he would have committed here.

Going by the US News & World Report rankings, all of these schools except for LSU are ranked higher than Nebraska. Miami has a pretty good academic reputation, despite the thuggish rep of the football team.

Of course NU has a good rep for academic support of its athletes and obviously has more academic all-americans than any other, but we always jump when someone says that academics are important and think that NU should automatically have the obvious advantage, as if that's our strongest draw, but unless I don't pay attention to recruiting very much, it doesn't seem that academics are often one of the major factors, even though a lot of recruits mention it early on.

Isn't it true that many of those schools have their med college attached to the university and if UNL & UNMC were one, the rating would be much better?

I figured the rankings were probably along those lines but, I honestly wonder how padded those stats are. After reading articles about how corrupt Bama and FSU are within the education of football players Im not gonna be shocked if Auburn and LSU are doing the same bs.

That's bullsh#t cause the Gumps and their little brother can't even count that high. And to the question about UNMC...They are attached to the State College system and is apart of UNL but aren't recognized within the rankings and such because they have their own research dollars that are separate from UNL. UNMC is a top 5 school when it comes to research and medicine and would definitely raise the ranking of UNL if counted.
