Coaches Poll - Up 3 Spots - #11

I won't be totally shocked if the playoff poll has TCU instead of Alabama.

TCU has an issue no one is talking about. Baylor owns the Head to Head and if they win out will be BXII champs. That will hurt TCU in the poll as Baylor will most certainly move ahead of them if they win out.

True. But I thought the committee representative mentioned that they are looking more than solely among conference champions. I look at the body of work TCU has done week in and out despite no CCG to play for.

They were underdogs to #4 Oklahoma that was 4-0 while receiving first place votes. They beat OU.

The following week they played at #5 Baylor, were up 21 in the fourth quarter and lost by a FG.

Next they whipped #15 Oklahoma State 42-9

Then destroyed unranked Texas Tech 82-27

After then it was ESPN Gameday in Morgantown against #20 West Virginia and TCU won on a FG.

Which lead to this past weekends 5th ranked opponent in six games - roughing up #7 Kansas State 41-20.

I don't know what else they need to do to validate their success, despite no CCG to play for. IMO they have done a lot more to deserve a shot than another one loss Power 5 Conference Championship Game winner that may have only competed against one or two additional ranked teams.

And I think if f a team that did this so far and was the Huskers, USC, Notre Dame, or any other team it would be a no-brainer. TCU is one of a few reasons why those teams they beat started to drop and or/are no longer ranked. They created the the blueprint of beating them.

TCU has earned all my respect and IMO should get a shot in the tournament as long as they win out.

Yeah but if Baylor wins out, they will have beaten all of those teams except for WVU in a similar fashion, look at what they did to OU last weekend, AND will have the head to head. Not sure how TCU can argue when they essentially had the same schedule. Perhaps the win over MINN is getting them a bit more love, can't remember who Baylor played in the non-con.

SMU, Northwestern St (FCS, not the B1G team), and Buffalo. The main thing is, Baylor still has some pretty tough games left. I don't see them coming through that without another loss, but if they do, they will close the gap or pass TCU. Over the season, I've been more impressed with TCU to this point but Baylor over OU was a big win.
