I actually think they have been saying it for longer than that but 40 years ago I was only 8 so I probably wasn't paying attention. I keep hovering in my bunker waiting for it to go to sh#t. In 2012 the Supreme Court declared Chicago's ban on handguns unconstitutional, and there's been an uptick - hardly surprisingly. For funzies, here's a chart for DC covering the same time frame. How does a 2012 Supreme Court decision on the ban on hand guns cause the homicide rate to go up? I know that sounds like a dumb question. But, I guess I have to ask. Before 2012, were people who were going to commit murder stopping and saying...."dang, I can't do that because it's illegal for me to have a gun"? Is this the same way someone who is going to sell or smoke pot in Chicago stops now and says..."Dang...I can't do that because it's illegal"? Link to comment
