Bernie Sanders' Effective Tax Rate is 13.5%

Recommended Posts

Bernie and all of his fellow socialist / communist (sounds extreme but it's not today) Democrat followers are the biggest threat to the future safety, soundness and security of the Nation since its founding days. Hillary is pure evil and her intentions are purely selfish and indecent. Either of them are elected and the damage inflicted by Obama will only be compounded and exacerbated. The odds of America surviving this social and political cancerous malignancy are less than 50%.

Bernie's tax return evidences the clear hypocracy that is the essence of being a liberal. They love to be liberal with other people's money, property and lives and freedom for their own benefits. Political power and greed are the dominant force directing the liberal mindset. Bernie wants a massive 70% tax on other people while he comfortably releases a tax return showing he paid only 14%. He could easily have sent in another 100,000 bucks so he would be in that 'rich' person's tax bracket he espouses for everyone else. But he did not. Wonder why? He sure doesn't put his money where his mouth is. And of course, the income he 'earned' (few would call it earned when all he does is sit in the Senate and spew gibberish and enjoy government dole/benefits paid for by others obviously) puts him in the rich category.

I can see you're really scared about Bernie. I already told cm $200K/yr is basically chump change on the East Coast, but whatever....

Where, pray tell, does it show that Bernie wants a 70% tax increase on anyone, let alone ordinary people?

Still no links or sources from the Bernie Haters, since there aren't any to support your ficticious claims.

I think I understand the point that's trying to be made, but it's not being made.

Bernie is doing nothing wrong by paying 13.5%. What he claims is wrong is that people who make as much as he makes are allowed to only pay 13.5%. That's what he wants to change.

Yup. But still, in the more expensive cities and areas of the country, $200k/yr is basic middle class. In NYC or San Fran or L.A, or Boston, etc, it's borderline lower middle class, especially after you pay even the "meager" 13.8% income tax.

But to focus on Bernie's taxes as somehow being some big problem, is rather missing the bigger picture, to put it mildly.

If that's true, then you're basically making my point that income taxing, and especially raises of rates at $250k, is bad policy.

And it's convenient that his specific but rate hike is just above his income bracket.

Why doesn't he advocate killing deductions rather than imposing new taxes that he and other wealthy people will just avoid anyway?

He's mainly going after the millionaire/billionaire class(es) so I refer you back to the 1st link I provided, it's all there... Again, I don't know why you keep bitching about Bernie: don't vote for him!

His plans cannot be paid for by only the millionaire class. And income does not equal wealth class.
