BigRedBuster
White is going to be very interesting as to what he does. Personally (and I'm obviously bias) if he isn't going to get drafted, he should come back. Europe or the D league is not going to get him the exposure to scouts like playing in the Big Ten would do. And...by chance if we get lucky and have a good year and make it to the dance, he gets all the exposure and press he desires to get to the NBA. Also....I must say....I am very glad he has his degree. That tends to be not a big priority with many of these kids. Quote Link to comment
GBRFAN
My guess is the combination of us getting a 5 and him not getting drafted (if that is the case) will lead him back to NU. He will have a list of two or three things that he needs to work on to improve his stock. With us having better players to fit all five spots - he will show case his talent more effectively. Hedley Lamarr
If White goes pro i expect Roby to start at the 3 Quote Link to comment
Minnesota_husker
1- Watson/Gill 2. Gill/Roby 3. Webster/McVeigh 4. Jacobson/Morrow/Fuller 5. Jordy/Morrow I dont know if Webster is the ideal 3 candidate but if White is gone, i guess i could see them run a bit of Watson/Gill/Webster. I think it would be a mistake to play Morrow at the 5. He needs to be a 4 and they need to allow Jacobson/Jordy play the 5. I think right now all signs point to White being gone. As such, I see a smaller back court with Watson, Gill and Webster (I don't think you can keep Webster on coming off the bench as a Senior in favor of McVeigh). Also, I see a rotation of Jacobson, Morrow, Jordy with Fuller grabbing a few minutes here and there. With the contribution that Jacobson gave on the boards last year I don't see Morrow starting over him but we will see. What signs are you reading? I am fairly certain he will be back. I just dont think he will get drafted at this point and can help his draft stock by coming back. Webster isnt a 3 in my opinion. I think he starts but it would be at the 2 with Gill getting the nod shortly after. Webster has no problem coming off the bench from what i have seen and McVeigh is a more traditional 3. Wait and see but with the lack of a true backup PG, Webster will have to play some 1 off the bench and doubt they have him play the 1,2 and 3. By all means I would love for him to come back but the fact he most likely will not be drafted still leaves him possibilities to be signed, the D league and Europe as noted before. The fact he has graduated is another factor weighing against him returning. I agree Webster isn't a natural 3 but it is not unheard of to put two point guards on the court at the same time. In fact, we saw a lot of Parker/Watson and Watson/Webster combos later in the year last year. I guess I should have clarified I think the starting line up will be Watson, Webster, Gill, Jacobson and Jordy. With Morrow and Fuller the first two off the bench and Webster spelling Watson and getting time as the main point. I dont think Fuller will see the court very much... I hope Morrow is healthy enough to start. Quote Link to comment
