Saunders
6. Nebraska (9-4): When Nebraska stood 7-0 entering a primetime game at Wisconsin, it appeared the Cornhuskers were on the precipice of a monumental, program-boosting breakthrough. Instead, Nebraska lost in overtime, was blown out by Ohio State and Iowa and then lost 38-24 to Tennessee in the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl. Nebraska made great strides in Year 2 of the Mike Riley era, but a 2-4 finish will leave a sour taste heading into the offseason. http://www.espn.com/blog/bigten/post/_/id/140696/final-big-ten-power-rankings-penn-state-sits-alone-following-magical-season 1 Quote Link to comment

Scratchtown
Great strides? Since when is playing terrible through 3 quarters and finally deciding to play in the 4th quarter making great strides?I'm not so sure last years 6-7 team wouldn't beat this years team. Quote Link to comment

Sometimes they played badly for all four quarters. Quote Link to comment

Mavric
Year 1 marked an awkward transition from Bo Pelini, and the 2016 season was a tribute to fallen punter Sam Foltz. Now coach Mike Riley truly owns it, and he'll have to choose between Tanner Lee and Patrick O'Brien at quarterback, plus deal with key losses at receiver and linebacker. #9 according to the Chicago Tribune Quote Link to comment
