The Cyclones finished 13-18 last season and ended with seven straight losses. The Cyclones are expected to finish in the middle of the Big 12 this year. They return Lindell Wigginton, who averaged 16.7 points per game as a freshman last year. He could’ve left for the NBA but chose to return. Iowa State will also lean heavily on Marial Shayok, a 6-foot-6 transfer from Virginia who played in three NCAA tournaments with the Cavaliers from 2014-17. Sunday should be a good challenge for Nebraska against a tall, young Cyclones team. 1 Quote Link to comment
ECisGod
They will also have former Husker Michael Jacobson. Quote Link to comment
teachercd
This should not be that much of a challenge. Quote Link to comment

Mavric
Iowa State was picked to finish ninth in the Big XII. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Watson was only 3-for-13 shooting but did have 8 assists. Thomas Allen was the Huskers fifth starter. Borchardt, Harris, Akenten and Heiman (in that order) played minutes off the bench. Borchard got more minutes in the second half because of Roby's foul trouble. Roby registered all the stat categories but only blocks really stood out - 4 points, 4 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks, 2 steals, 3 turnovers, 4 fouls. Michael Jacobson played 27 minutes off the bench and had 9 points and 3 boards. Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
Scrimmages like this are like preseason MLB games. They really don't mean much because you don't know what experimenting the coaches are doing with personnel and schemes. Quote Link to comment

Iowa State was playing without three of their top 6 scorers from last year because of “punishment” or injury and we got smoked in the first half. Quote Link to comment
